I'm not sure what Tish was better at, as a host or as a teacher! This weekend was fantastic! I scheduled a weekend for me and my boyfriend for my birthday and it was amazing! The accomodations were clean, comfortable and welcoming! She cooked wonderful food keeping allergies in mind, and had a great assortment of snacks and drinks available as well. She helped us narrow down what we wanted to do for a project and immediately got us going on the process. She was encouraging without micromanaging, made corrections while still allowing us to learn, and allowed us to benefit from her wisdom and experience without being judgemental. I can't wait to come back to Tish's Art Studio again!!

Tish’s place is amazing! It was very clean, the bed is really comfortable, and the food is great!! For the art class, that is the highlight of this stay of course! Even though I’ve never worked with stained glass before, Tish is a great teacher and guided me through an amazing piece that I will treasure forever! I was looking for a fun getaway from houston to experience something different and this was it! Tish is also a very interesting person and I had a great time getting to know her during my stay! Thanks Tish!

Staying at Tish’s was not only a comfortable and welcome escape from the hustle and bustle, but I took one of her art classes as well and made something beautiful as an absolute novice. I highly recommend partaking in the stained glass studio, enjoying some wine, and then having the best sleep of your life in one of the private rooms. Will definitely seek our Tish’s on my next trip through Texas! Thanks again.

In a world of cookie cutter lodging experiences it was Sooooo worth it to go just a bit off the beaten path to discover Tish’s, in Groveton, Texas. I was doing photography work in Dallas & Houston, so the location was perfect, right in between those mega cities. My work days were high stress, so decompressing at this gem of a spot was perfection. A cold drink, cheese plate and incredible art greeted me just inside the door. Ms. Inman gave me the grand tour of her lifetime as an artist with her great mural and stained glass work prominently anchoring the decor. Wonderfully prepared home cooked meals were served in the high walled courtyard she calls “the Alamo”, a completely charming space with dozens of humming birds dancing about at supper. For dinner the “suckin shrimp” was fantastic. She offers art classes so I had brought with me a hand carved chair picked up on a photo job in Indonesia. What a transformation! At breakfast the pancakes with blueberries and raspberries were perfectly prepared. I REALLY didn’t want to leave, but I had to.
