The farmhouse location was idyllic and beautiful to spend time at. We saw lots of wildlife while we were there and enjoyed how quiet the area was (aside from the busy road in front). The house itself was equipped with the essentials and would get you through your stay comfortably. The general store near by turned into our daily visit, as they make a nice coffee, pastry and whatever you may need in a pinch. We also enjoyed one of the local beaches, just a 8 minute drive from the property. One note, The listing mentions a fireplace and fire pit, and as the months get colder these things are a must in a coastal farmhouse. The fireplace does not work and there is no firewood provided. I did want to mention this as it’s not mentioned in the listing and the owner didn’t care much to help us. We’re not too needy however so the blankets provided and the central heating in the house were used instead. The house is old, charming and has its quirks; be prepared to enjoy them as they pop up :)

Rose Bay is a beautiful setting and the house on Juniper Hill has a lot of charm

Jen’s place is awesome! It’s spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. It’s in a great spot to explore the south shore. Unfortunately we had to prep for a hurricane and power went out but we had water, candles, and a bbq so we made the most of it. Would definitely recommend Jen’s place to anyone coming to Nova Scotia!

Beautiful surrounding, the house has everything one need at the right place. Interiors are great to relax. Really enjoyed the stay.
