Geoffrey was a very wonderful and accommodating host. The place is very serene. The view is amazing!! It is indeed a peaceful place.
We were blown away by the breathtaking views from Geoffrey's beautiful home. Wow! There are no words to describe the views from this home and photos can't really show you how STUNNING the views are. Images can't help you to understand the great feeling you get when you are sitting on that beautiful verandah. It is such a great place to relax and enjoy the cool breeze or the sunshine while looking at Pedro Plains, Treasure Beach and beyond I also love the history that comes with the house. Geoffrey and his house manager, Vaunette are great hosts. The house is very clean and we felt very safe there. The house has everything you need and the grounds are very beautiful. There are so many fruit trees and pretty flowers. We will definitely stay there again.
This stay was an extension of a shorter one intially planned; within one day of being at Shalom, I knew I'd be extending the stay -- and a whole week later, when my booking ended, I still wished I had more time. Shalom is tucked away in the hillside (drive a car that does not sit too low) overlooking a view that is peaceful and yet enlivening. The character of the home is what I'd call call simple Jamaican authenticity, and it wraps you in warmth. The stay was renewing and refreshing, away from the busy-ness that can oft be life. The name is an apt discriptor - Shalom...be at peace.
Shalom...be at peace is everything that is listed - quiet, peace with unparalleled views. You have the opportunity to abide in an authentic Jamaican home, enjoy the quiet, the view, and the sound of nature... its everything I needed it to be, and more!
