A beautiful quiet villa. It's easy to access the sights of Heraklion by car, and we had a lovely evening in the cafe by the square just a short walk away.

We had a lovely stay at Castello villa Daphnes with our family. The house is beautifully authentic with a modern garden and pool. The view from the garden and bedrooms is amazing. Also the patio is very cosy and contains the most beautiful lemon tree I have ever seen. The house was clean and there were fresh towels, bedsheets and bathroom supplies. The kitchen equipment was a bit outdated but it didn't bother too much. The location is perfect to do some hiking and discover how the people of Crete live. There is not much tourism in this area. The only downside of this is that you need a car to reach the beach. If you are looking for a real authentic Greek experience and like to live among the locals then this is the perfect Airbnb!

Wir hatten 14 sehr schöne Tage in der Villa Daphne. Die Begrüßung und Betreuung von Catharina war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Man kann auch Fragen an den Hausbesitzer via Airbnb stellen und bekommt prompt Antwort. Bei kleinen Pannen im Haus bemühte man sich sofort Abhilfe zu schaffen. Die Villa Daphne ist ein charmantes Landhaus mit einem sehr schönen Garten und Innenhof- hier ist man fernab von Massentourismus und spießigen Null-acht-fünfzehn Einrichtungen. Wir waren mit der Großfamilie da- jeder konnte einen ruhigen Platz für sich finden. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten sich zurückzuziehen. Das Schwimmbad wird morgens früh gereinigt und war sehr sauber. Der Garten wurde von einem Gärtnerteam gepflegt. Im unteren Stockwerk gibt es ein Doppelzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten und Ensuite Bad, im oberen Stockwerk gibt es drei Doppelzimmer, von denen eines ein kleines Appendix Zimmer (wie begehbarer Kleiderschrank) hat, allerdings ohne Fenster. Dort steht ein Einzelbett für den 9. Gast. Oben gibt es ein weiteres Bad. Die Doppelzimmer haben alle Aircondition. Das Wohnzimmer hat ebenfalls viele Sitzgelegenheiten. Im Ort gibt es ein Weingut, einige Restaurants und Cafes und einen kleinen Supermarkt für das Nötigste. Ein Auto ist aus unserer Sicht notwendig. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

The house is located at a quite and authentic greek rural hillside-town. We liked the cosy bedrooms with the comfortable beds and the spacey living-room with the high ceilings. It has a beautiful patio to have a nice breakfast / dinner or just sit under the big lemon-tree. Unfortunately we were disappointed about the (whirl)pool, which was advertised as „pool and hot-tub“. In fact the „tub“ was integrated inside the main pool, which was about 20 degress celsius - so: far from„hot“. Furthermore a „first breakfast“ was promised in the check-in information. But this wasn’t available, due to corona-regulations. But this was never communicated to us (which was a bit strange, because we stayed at about 7 villas on our 5-week journey and always got something to eat / breakfast / olive oil ..., did they all violate the corona-regulations?) Concerning cleanliness: especially the kitchen was not really clean - we had to clean nearly every second item before usage. Also the living-room has „potential“. At least the bedrooms were spotless and the bathrooms were ok, too.
