Silk Cotton is a fabulous property! The host, Scott, and every single member of the staff was so nice, responsive and helpful. We had three three-generation family groups (50 in all) traveling together, and things could not have gone more smoothly and there could not have been a better venue for our holiday trip. We fell in love with the staff, the calm and welcoming environment, and we hated to leave this paradise!! Thank you, Scott and group, for making our trip so fantastic!!

Nice location. Nice for holding big groups of 20+. Rooms need to be renovated. For the amount asked, I wouldn't go back until the rooms have been upgraded.

We rented Silk Cotton Villas for a large extended family trip. We plan a trip every year and this was the first since COVID as a group. In theory, the compound was perfect for it - individual units for families but we were on the same grounds of a gated community and we would be the only ones on the grounds - win win! Before I give you the details, let me first say we have rented homes and villas all over through various platforms and have had great success in doing so. In addition, I have spent years as an event planner so coordinating groups of people comes second nature to me (thus the reason I am in charge of coordinating the family trip!) We rented Silk Cotton Villas for a large group. We rented all of the villas which was confirmed several times by the owner. 2 weeks before arriving (and purely by accident after I inquired about some logistics), it was revealed that they had double booked one of the villas to another family who was a re-book from COVID. They offered an accommodation that wasn’t comparable to what was originally booked (and literally as I write this days later, not ONE person - Scott, Kent or Nadja have offered an apology!) Airbnb did what they could to just figure out a compromise since we had 56 people with airfare booked and no way we could find comparable accommodations in 2 weeks, we figured out a way to fit everyone (though not ideal for the family that had to squeeze into basically a hotel room instead of a 2 bedroom villa). And of course and more importantly now we had a random family in the middle of our family gathering during COVID (not ideal for us or them!) The family was quite nice but when we booked the whole compound, we very specifically wanted to ensure that we were the only ones there and paid to ensure that. It was our main priority. Good customer service is determined, not when things go well but when things go wrong and the measures a person takes to fix it speaks volumes. Based on this, the owner failed miserably. When Airbnb confronted them on the matter, they actually tried to threaten us that we only rented the entire compound for 16 people and we had more and that they could cancel based on that if we didn’t agree to the arrangement. It took Customer Support 3 seconds to read through the thread with the owner to see that was far from the truth (we gave them a clear head count both before and after booking). But what “Superhost” even does that?! To a customer who spent upwards of $30,000 for a week at your property?! Extraordinarily unprofessional and shady. It was quite ridiculous but we made the best of an impossible situation. I do want to separate the owner and his business practices from the on-site staff. Yulino (property manager) and Charmaine (housekeeping) as well as the grounds workers were just lovely to deal with. We had several issues once there and they did their very best to address them kindly and quickly. They were all a pleasure to work with. Some of the issues were just out of their control. Faulty water pumps meant we had very little water pressure most days and some days no water at all. A pool filter cap broke on the pool and several people cut their foot because of it. Security issues with unauthorized people coming on the grounds (and even entering one of the villas). Also the units are not as pictured. I think some of the pictures are mixed up - the pictures for the unit I stayed in was not as it was in the pictures. Also everything is just worn out and in need of some updating. Random doors not properly fastened, missing toilet paper racks, weathered and ripped sofas, worn and stained carpets. Not the worst but could definitely benefit from some real serious updating and refreshing. But the grounds are lovely and having the pools and expansive grounds was really nice. Would I stay there again? With different ownership and some real updating being done, I’d consider it. But as it is now, we won’t be visiting Silk Cotton again anytime soon.

We had the most extraordinary time at Silk Cotton Villas. We rented the entire complex to host a leadership retreat, and Scott and Kent were extraordinary support in making sure we could deliver an unforgettable experience for our attendees. Everyone felt so comfortable in their villas and loved the space. We would come back any time!
