I spent almost a month in Violettas' studio and had a very good time. As a host she is very responsive and an open and kind person. Because she also rents out other apartments in the same location, you can meet people if you want to. Nevertheless the studio is very private, clean and cozy. Last but not least, her garden is amazing to relax and enjoy the sunset view of Florence. Grazie Violetta! :-)

This beautiful apartment is perfect for a couple, or single person, who are looking for a tranquil stay in beautiful scenery but with easy access (half an hour drive or an hour's bus journey) to Florence. We absolutely loved everything about our stay. We have just [reluctantly] left after 2 weeks feeling relaxed and rested as well as inspired by the architecture, art galleries and historic churches of Florence. Violetta the host is such a warm generous person who's heart is for her guests to have the best experience possible. She displayed great sensitivity in allowing her guests space whilst making herself accessible when there was anything we wanted to know. Her local knowledge is extensive. The apartment is part of a barn on the property of Violetta's home surrounded by a beautiful garden and olive groves. There are areas in the garden created for guests to eat or lie in the sun and enjoy the incredible vista of olive covered hills sweeping down into the bottom of the valley where Florence nestles. At night the lights of Florence are magical. We chose not to rent a car but to use busses and we were pleasantly surprised by how reliable they were and how easy it was to get into Florence. There is a bus stop outside the front gate which goes to a small town which has a good supermarket, and from there are very frequent busses into Florence. Another highlight was a bistro in neighbouring Villa Magna, 15 minute walk away which we made our local. It is exceptionally well run by a lovely guy called Alessandro who provides simple but high quality cold meats and cheeses and many varieties of excellent bread. You can also buy some groceries from there. All in all a highly enjoyable and relaxing stay that exceeded our expectations.
