What an amazing and special place. The house was maybe the most beautiful building we’ve ever stayed in and this was before we’d even seen the sensational garden. Hana and her husband are very special people and made us feel like their family within the first evening of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting with them and laughing/ speaking through Google translate, they are both big characters. The perfect place to experience serene tranquillity away from cities. We loved exploring Ayabe the following day on bikes we picked up at the tourist centre next to the station (you can leave your bags here for the day!) A visit and memory we will cherish forever.

이곳에서의 경험은 놀랍습니다. 저와 남자친구는 이곳을 방문하기 위해 이번 일본 여행을 온것이나 마찬가지입니다. 3박 4일의 일정이 매우 짧게 느껴질 정도로 이곳에 매료되어 버렸습니다. 이곳은 오랜 고택의 경견한 분위기와 모던한 가구가 잘 어우러져 있습니다. 모든 방이 아름다우며, 흥미로운 물건들로 가득 차 있습니다. 이 집의 정점은 지로씨가 8년동안 가꾼 정원입니다. 매일 아침 그곳을 바라보는 것 만으로도 놀라운 경험을 할 수 있습니다. 호스트인 하나씨와 지로씨는 저희를 편안하게 해주면서도 무척 즐겁게 해주셨습니다. 하나씨는 무척 명랑하며 유머 감각이 출중합니다. 아침식사를 할 때마다 하나씨의 요리 솜씨에 매우 감탄했습니다. 역에서부터 조금 거리거 있으니 장을 미리 봐서 가는 것을 추천합니다. 주변에 할 것이 그렇게 많지는 않습니다. 그러나 주변 자연 경관이 매우 아름답기 때문에 집 주변을 산책하면서 신사를 방문하거나 짧은 등산을 하는 것을 추천합니다.

I stayed here with my 8 year old daughter for 2 nights and regreted it. I wish I could stay here for 20 nights! We loveee Baba and Jiji so much. The house is exactly like everybody says. Beautiful, neat, well taken care of, great location, complete amenities, best of the best. I give it 10 stars. Especially the garden made by Jiji, and the warm futons! But I wanna share more about Obachan Hana (Baba) and and Ojichan Jiro (Jiji). Even before my trip I already imagine how nice both of them are by reading all the reviews. When I arrived by taxi, they welcomed and greeted us kindly and I immediately felt home. I need to add here that Baba is very beautiful and Jiji is very handsome. 🤣 They took us to Arashiyama, to supermarket, even to hospital and accompanied my daughter when she got sick, she washed our clothes 😭😭, and catered to our special diet. I give them all the stars in the sky! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ We love you Baba & Jiji!
