This place was AMAZING!! The beach was phenomenal and the pictures don’t do it justice. You can walk down to the Frankfort lighthouse from the beach. The town of Frankfort is adorable and everything is within walking distance. There were 10 of us and it felt so spacious. There are a lot of stairs in the house so be prepared to climb! The stairs down to the beach are also steep. We had no issues but it could be pretty difficult for some folks.

The house worked for our mom & dads 50th anniversary celebration! The overall communication was very responsive, however we had multiple issues that were never taken care of while we were staying there. First, I called as soon as we arrived as there was beeping coming from a huge stack of garbage. Second, the bathtub would not drain after using the first night, so my elderly parents were never able to use it for our entire stay. I even told them that we would prefer for it to be fixed while we were there. The ‘company’ kept responding, however the ‘local’ person never did and JUST contacted me today (Tuesday…NOT HELPFUL as we left Sunday). My husband ended up digging through over 8 bags of garbage to find SIX smoke alarms that were thrown away with the batteries still intact. Not exactly how I prefer to spend my vacation! And lastly, the fireplace was closed off with a sign saying ‘bats’. I would not recommend staying here until they figure out how to manage this property!

Pros: -Large house with 4 full bedrooms and 2 beds in the basement -Beautiful location with a nice view of Lake Michigan -Easy 3 block walk to downtown Frankfort -Path access leads right down to a more secluded part of the public beach -End of a quiet street Cons: -Wifi was spotty. In some parts of the house signal strength was problematic, but we had several prolonged periods (4+ hrs over 7 days) of no internet at all. Reported to the host but they said ‘many people are down’…which made no sense since there were no storms in the area during our stay. -Garbage! We checked in Mon and there were 3 full garbage cans in the garage. I reported this issue several times to the host, and to their credit they replied immediately. But they never picked up the garbage. After 7 days (our stay) the garbage in the garage was getting smelly (it is summer and the garage was not ventilated). On top of that we had our own garbage piling up. For as much as we paid this is truly unacceptable.

Location and home are perfect for a long weekend getaway! The fenced in area in the yard was perfect for our dogs. Quick walk to the beach or downtown. Great view and a lot of room in the home. Would definitely visit again!
