Located in the middle of woods, our country house is just a few km from Matsalu Nature Park, famous for bird watching and for its beautiful flatlands. Our place is a rustic wooden house that was used as a granary more than a hundred years ago. Half of the house is now for our beloved sauna and the other half has a bedroom on the second floor and a small kitchenette and living room on the first floor. The place is very simple and meant for nature lovers, a perfect spot for a quiet getaway. NB! The space for visitors is very simple: it doesn't have proper heating, even though some temporary heaters are available. The shower is located outside, in a more private spot, looking straight into our birch trees. For some, it might seem a bit extreme, but we ourselves really enjoy this direct contact with nature. The 'dry' toilet is located some 30 metres from the house; it smells perfectly well and has been taken care of with lots of love. Do have all of this in mind if you wish to book for early spring or late autumn. If you are interested, we also offer the option of taking a sauna for an extra fee, my husband is very good at providing this experience. In case they're available, you can use our simple bikes to take a stroll around the peninsula. You can also make a pond fire and use the BBQ utensils.

We truly feel that this experience was one of the most meaningful events of our travel history.

Imeline koht! ❤️ Kindlasti soovitaksin kõigile. Meri on lähedal ja ratastega on väga mõnus minna randa päikeseloojangut vaatama. Kodu oli hubane ja kõik vajalik oli olemas. Välidušš ja väliköök olid kuumade ilmadega väga mõnusad🌞 Ande ja Jaan on väga külalislahked ja sõbralikud inimesed 😊
Kõik oli suurepärane - vastuvõtt, nagu oleksime ammused sõbrad! Piirkond on üsna vähetuntud (minule) aga väga meeleolukas. Väga vaikne ja privaatne koht, lakkamatu linnulaul, õitest kirendavad teeääred. Jalgrattaretk Puisele, ujumine hommikuti ja muidugi saun. Jaan on äge saunataja ja vihameister, jaanipäevaaegsed vihad igasugu taimedest, kasest ja kadakast lõhnasid niii hästi. Aidas magamine oli mõnus, tänu sääsevõrkudele ei olnud ka neid kiusajaid. Kõik vajalik on olemas söögitegemiseks, aga meile pakuti toitu pererahva poolt ja olid mõnusad suveõhtud väliköögis. Tahaks tagasi minna iga kell!
The place is even more amazing in real life than in pictures! It is beautiful, calm, peaceful, surrounded by nature, the owners Ande and Jaan are lovely and make you feel very welcomed. There is everything you need for a perfect getaway. We had fun trying the tandem bicyle, loved the sauna and the outdoor shower, and our dog was happy to run around as well. We definitely recommend staying here and would be happy to return! Thank you!

The village we are closest to (Allika) has absolutely nothing else than the sea and many many birds and wild animals. This is what the whole Matsalu region is famous for. Haapsalu city is some 20km from our house and you can get there by car in less than 30min. Haapsalu has a lot to offer in terms of spas, beautiful 19-century architecture, gastronomy and festivals in the summer. Matsalu, on the other hand, is a gorgeous place for walks, birdwatching, swimming and for a quiet getaway.
If you're not going by car, you can get to Haapsalu by bus from Tallinn or other big cities, and from Haapsalu, there's a small (free) bus that takes you close to the country house.
The bus number is 29, it is called the Haapsalu-Puise-Kiideva line. Our stop is Tuuru, it is 2km from our place. Best place to check the timetable is gmaps planner or peatus.ee

We are a family deeply in love with the Matsalu region, its silence, birds, flat landscapes and romantic sunsets. Depending on the season, we tend to spend long weekends in our countryside where we have three little houses, one of them for the use of visitors. We also have a tiny sausage-dog Vafi, she is very friendly.
