Immerse yourself in the peace & beauty of our tranquil countryside. Escape the stress & unwind in stunning surroundings. Stroll through the olive and orange trees. An excellent base to walk, cycle or ride on horseback, or to relax by the pool, in the gardens or on one of the terraces. In the evening take a stroll into one of the many restaurants & Tabernas in the town. Or spend the evening by the pool with a BBQ & admire the star-filled night sky. The perfect place to explore the Alpujarras The Casa is light and airy and has original art work in every room. With a large roof terrace where you can sit and dine whist looking over the Sierra Nevada and Sierra Lujar mountain ranges and watch the sun set between the two. There are three further outdoor dining areas depending on where you would like to sit, shade, partial shade or full sun. There is a flat screen TV with over 30 British TV channels and a DVD library in the lounge/dining room, should you fancy a night in. There is also a wood burning stove for those cooler winter nights. The Gardens are on two levels with plenty of trees and plants on both. There is an 11 metre pool on the lower terrace and a raised gazebo for those shaded drinks or lunches. In the upper garden there is parking for three cars, a lawn, olive, orange, lemon, pomegranate, apple and peach trees and a table tennis table. Other games such as giant Jenga & croquet are available on request. Inside there is a good size kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, toaster, orange juicer, fridge freezer and all the crockery and cookware needed for 6 people. There is also a cot should one be needed. The bathroom features a large shower, toilet and hand basin with cupboards and shelves. We are trying to minimise our carbon foot print and are installing solar hot water in the near future.

Sandie ist eine erstklassige Gastgeberin. Vom ersten Kontakt bis zur Verabschiedung waren wir absolut zufrieden. Die Unterkunft ist fantastisch. Eine tolle Lage, ein wunderschöner Blick ins Tal und die Berge. Es fehlt an nichts. Sandie gab uns nützliche Tipps für Ausflüge, die uns auch bei dem leichten Regen eine große Hilfe waren. Ganz lieben Dank.

We had a great week's stay here in Orgiva. Sandie's property is a real gem. It is more spacious than it appears on the photos and the outside space is particularly flexible, lots of places to sit in the sun in the Winter - and escape from it in the Summer. Sandie and Mike are fabulous hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Walking into town is OK - bring a torch if you plan to do so at night. We all highly recommend this house - thanks for a great stay, Sandie.

Pasamos unos días inolvidades mi familia y yo. La mejor salida y entrada de año que podríamos haber elegido. Sandie y Mike muy atentos y sobretodo muy simpáticos. Nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Seguro repetiremos. Totalmente recomendable.

We had the best Christmas holiday at Sandie and Mikes country house. We felt alone in the mountains and at home in the house with the fireplace and when we needed their help, they were right next to us and so kind with everything! The only bad thing is that we had too little time :)

We had the most amazing family holiday here, it was just beautiful and so peaceful, we slept so well. the house was spotlessly clean, the beds were beautifully made up and the house stayed so cool in the summer heat! we loved the sun terrace for star gazing in the evening and it was perfect for morning yoga ! the gardens were well kept and lush, the pool was huge and the kids loved it. we drove into town which took about 5 minutes, we didn't walk into town as it would have been too hot for young children , the accommodation was very private and tucked away. we loved the 3 rescue doggys especially Layla. They were kept next door behind a gate but my two little boys were always very eager to play with the friendly dogs. We love the bohemian vibes of Orgiva and being within driving distance to the beautiful mountain villages, be sure to visit taramay beach and salabrena which are both lovely family friendly beaches about 35 minutes away. thank you for having us! we will be back !

Orgiva is the capital of Las Alpujarras with a population of around 6000 people. Orgiva is very Bohemian with an eclectic mix of Spanish locals and like minded people from other European countries. It has supermarkets, all types of shops, restaurants and bars, a market, a medical centre and all you would expect from a market town of this size. The Casa Amarilla is is 500 metres down a lane from the Orgiva/Tijola road then a further kilometre from the town, and the nearest bar.
From the Casa you can walk along the Acequias through the countryside to the river or up into the hills.
Salobreña with its hilltop castle and it's beautiful beaches are 30 mins away.

The walk into town is about 15-20 mins depending on your speed. Bikes can be hired in the town as can horses, but I recommend a car if youplanning to make the most of your time in the Alpujarras. Malaga airport is 90 minutes and Granada 50 mins away by car. The beaches of the Costa Tropica-30 mins and the white mountain villages about 20 mins
