My stay with Warren and his family was spectacular! Paul organized everything for Warren from overseas as there is no wifi in the village. However, it was lovely to not have wifi! Everyone was super accommodating and they went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed myself. Warren picked me up from the airport (I would recommend this as the village is FAR AWAY) and then Warren organized several activities for me (bird watching (I saw a male Raggiana bird of paradise!), kayaking, snorkelling, and a hike up to a look out point). Everyone was so generous and they really made sure you felt at home. I was also never worried about my safety either - they made sure to do everything to keep me safe while I visited!

We stayed here for one week, and loved every bit of it. The family is extremely friendly and took us in, and made us feel part of the family. We had our food brought to the house every day, and it was exquisite (mostly local food, and fresh fruits from the garden). They organized activities for us, such as snorkeling, bird watching, jungle walks and fishing. All at reasonable prices and with the family guiding us. The lodge is the highest placed house, a bit outside of the actual village and super safe. Warrens family always goes with you, when you walk around, and are happy to explain everything you need to know. Even as a first time Traveller to PNG, I would highly recommend staying here. It is by far the safest I’ve felt through this journey. Another important note- Warren does a great deal to give back to his community, so staying here also supports the local community, the school and the preservation of the jungle.

If you are looking for an authentic PNG experience then look no further. Paul manages this listing, but it’s Warren you will be with on site. Warren has owned this accommodation for 20 years. It is in his own village and the location is beautiful with spectacular views. The cabin is well equipped, like the photos, and sitting on the balcony is delightful. But this place is so much more than the cabin. Warren has a excellent relationship with his community, supporting and giving back. This means in warrens hand you are safe and secure. You can go places with him you wouldn’t be able to otherwise. There is lots of activities available. Hikes, waterfalls, traditional canoes on river, village visits, snorkeling, birds of paradise viewing in a protected pocket of rainforest. You will be looked after by his family. You can have meals provided which I did and the food is good. If you are searching for a place to stay i highly recommend ulamani tree tops, you won’t regret it!!
