Sauveterre-de-Béarn · 整套联排别墅 · 4室6床2.5卫 · 可住8人 · Charming Bearnaise home in a Mediaeval Village
A Classic Bearnaise house in a small mediaeval town. Situated on two floors with views out onto rooftops and the Pyreneenan mountains in the distance, the house offers character and comfort. Sauveterre is conveniently located within an hour of the popular coastal towns, Biarritz and St Jean de Luz. Just a few minutes walk away there are bars, a couple of restaurants, a supermarket and the best Patisserie around, there is also a beautiful swimming river, 3 minutes walk through the old town. The house has two double bedrooms, (one ensuite) one large single and a bedroom with three beds perfect for children, all the bedrooms are on the same floor, two at the front of the house facing the mountains. The living area is spacious with a breakfast living room off the kitchen, a larger more formal sitting room and a large dining area which seats ten comfortably, and a wood burning stove. The bedrooms each have their own electric radiator. The ground floor centres around a courtyard where there is an inbuilt fire / barbecue and enough room to sit and eat. There are two staircases, one on either side of the house, this makes it perfect for two families despite being able to cross through upstairs. All the rooms are light and airy, all with shutters. There is a big bathroom, with a bath and a handheld shower, a walk in shower with a toilet and an extra room with a toilet and sink. The washing machine is downstairs in a little curtained off area in the dining room at the back of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a large double belfast sink, an electric oven with gas and electric hob, the cylinder will have enough gas for your stay. There is also a dishwasher. There is no TV or Wifi, but there is a projector and the living room wall for you to create your own home cinema. You can watch any DVD or movie downloaded onto your computer. We also have a garage opposite the house, behind which there is a big barn, a great hang out for kids on a rainy day, with a ping pong table. You can park directly outside the house, but tucked right in alongside the wall to allow room for passing cars.
Sauveterre de Béarn is a beautiful village with stunning views of the Pyrenees and a wealth of remarkable medieval architecture. For centuries, the village has been a stopping point on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. Modern days visitors can enjoy the outdoor market (every Saturday morning) and river swimming in the Gave d'Oloron. (A 'gave' is the local name for the white water rivers that flow down from the Pyrenees Mountains). The gave curls around the medieval battlements of Sauveterre and gives the village its character. Other popular local sports include tennis, pelota, rugby, rafting, hiking, kayaking and cycling.
