Excellent place to stay if you want to fish or explore around Kenia, AK. Definitely set up at a fishing camp. Nice cabin and good outdoor space. Terry and his wife were fantastic! Sorry I can’t remember her name.

The place was nice and the spa is wonderful - nice set up cabin. However, our stay was a little spoiled by some awkward interactions with the hosts. We almost missed our fishing charter (check in time is 3pm, and I communicated at 12pm we would be there at 3pm) When we got there, they told us it wouldn’t be ready till 4pm because the prior guests hadn’t left yet. We had to drop our bags and the cleaning ladies were only able to put clean sheets on the bed, floors were dirty, we cleaned the place ourselves due to time constraints. Upon checking in (we booked through Airbnb and my Credit card had already been charged the full amount) the host wanted to charge us again per person who was staying in the cabin, there was nothing listed on Airbnb about additional persons charges. They did finally agree to honor the price that we had already paid through Airbnb but told us we are not paying enough per night and Airbnb must have made a mistake. It sounds like these cabins are on multiple listing platforms and they don’t quite have the listing right on Airbnb, and made us feel really awkward the entire stay. We had another host stop by and talk to us about additional charges and re-negotiating prices after we had already stayed two days. Overall it felt unprofessional and we probably wouldn’t stay here again even though it was a beautiful place and great facilities. Would have rated 5 stars if the management and communication wasn’t so awkward and we didn’t have to clean the place ourselves upon checking in.

Overall the property is very clean. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, but overall the cabins are cozy. The place was really nice, new, well kept and fairly new. The amenities are a very nice addition. I cannot recommend this place as we had a very poor interaction with the host, Terry. They have a vague cancellation policy when speaking in person with his wife, and had hoped to extend our stay. When I called to cancel our additional night, the host began berating, and yelling at us over the phone, going so far as calling us 'UnAmerican, and dishonest'... Our experience was just this. We stayed one night, cleaned our own unit, and I asked his wife if it was possible to add on another day. She said yes, and that we would have to move units, but that the unit wouldn't be ready for 2 hours. This was at 10 am. We received a call at 4 pm saying we could put our bags into the new unit at this point, we had to leave for a fishing charter, and I called the owner to let him know we didn't want the unit. We were already late for our charter and had already packed everything up, and loaded out. He then went on to say he was going to charge us for the full stay and proceeded to yell at us and berate us over the phone. I even offered to pay a cancelation fee, prior to this outburst and rudeness. In good faith, we would not and could not pay any type of cancelation fee with the treatment and disrespect that was displayed. Unfortunately, we will not be staying here again, due to this interaction. We had already started planning on coming back and spending another weekend here as a group prior to this interaction with Terry. Too bad. We still tipped the staff, and wish them the best.

Great location for fishing! Loved that our boys had a playset and a trampoline to use. One of the reasons we had decided to go with the lodge was for the hot tub, but we could not use the hot tub and/or sauna because other guest were using it and we did not want to come into any contact with other guest in other lodges. So we were a little bummed out about that and have suggested to Terry to create a schedule for private use. But overall, yes, would stay again in hopes of getting in that sauna and hot tub!
