I stayed at Peace and Retreat from July 14-16 and had mixed feelings about my stay. The pros: -Lisa was very responsive, answering questions before and during my stay. -My dogs loved the little stream running next to the house. The cons: -It rained before and during my trip. Without my Jeep Wrangler, I don’t think I would have made it up the hill to the house. The mud and incline had me sliding back down without 4WD engaged. The road to the house is also VERY rough. -The pictures in the listing are not what I found when I arrived. There is no mountain view or trail. -Finally, I was put off the most by how unkempt it was, inside and out. There was trash in the yard and the weeds and grass were overgrown. Lots of bird poop on the patio. Inside, the floors and windows were littered with bugs. There were stains and hair on the sheets and blankets and dead bugs on the comforter. Every time I moved on the bed, the noise would wake me up. Overall, I expected more for the price point.

We really enjoyed our stay! Very reasonably priced and has all the basics. Just be aware that this location is truly up the mountain, requiring you to take a steep, bumpy gravel road for a couple miles up to the house. Once you’re up there, it is truly beautiful and relaxing. Burnsville is a cute little town with a couple restaurants etc about 20 minutes from the house.

Nice little cozy place to relax, refresh & recharge! It is up on the side of a mountain and you can hear the creek that runs along the valley and see deer and various other forest creatures from the windows & porch.
