Kidaman Cottage is situated in a private tranquil corner of our 125 acre farm in the beautiful Obi Obi Valley. Kidaman Cottage offers you the unique opportunity of an authentic farm stay. We have Minature Donkeys, Miniature Goats, sheep, chickens, horses and our lovely cat Barry (who visits daily) to enjoy in your very own section of our farm. From misty mornings to stunning sunsets over the valley Kidaman Cottage is the perfect place to kick back, relax, recharge and enjoy the country air. The cottage is comfortably furnished with everything you will need for your stay. The cottage is two bedroom one bathroom. The main bedroom has a comfy queen size bed, the second bedroom has two single beds. This makes for the perfect getaway for either a romantic weekend in the country or an escape with the whole family. All beds are made with quality linens and soft fluffy Sheridan towels are also provided. There is a large flat screen TV with all the free to air channels available. We also supply a large selection of blue ray and DVD movies. There is a small book selection and a variety of board games provided for family fun. Enjoy a game of Giant connect four on the deck or some old school fun of Ring Toss on the grass. The kitchen is fully equiped with everything you will need for your stay. Its our pleasure to provide you with breakfast (on arrival only) consisting of our very own fresh free range eggs (which you can either collect yourself or we can collect for you) from our happy chooks, bacon, crusty home baked sour dough, a selection of jams, Muesli, Milk from our local Maleny dairy, and Orange Juice. We also provide a wide selection of teas and quality coffee. The pantry is also stocked with basic staple items. Breakfast or in fact any meal of the day can be enjoyed on the spacious deck with views over looking the valley and our animal paddocks. The wood fire place (stacked for you with wood provided) will keep you warm and cosy on our chilly winter nights. Please note the fire place will only be available for use through the cooler months starting 1st of June until 30th of September, If you would like to use the fireplace out side of these times you can purchase a bag of fire wood from us for $15. Central air-conditioning keeps the entire cottage cool in our warmer Summer months. There is no wifi at the cottage however we hope that this gives you the opportunity to unplug and take a break from the connected world, take in the stunning views and enjoy our friendly farm animals. There is full phone reception with Optus and Vodafone, Telstra can be a little bit unreliable. Our Miniature Donkey and Miniature Goat paddock which is right next to the cottage is open between 7am and 5pm for you to feed and play with our friendly animals at your leisure. We have Miniature Donkeys; Brian and Marty,friendly Miniature Goats; Juno and Jose' and a sweet Lamb called Jolene. We provide you with 2 x bags of feed. Enclosed shoes must be worn at all times while in our animal enclosure and children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. We leave apples and carrots for you to feed our horses; Olive, Peyote and Shilo. We kindly ask that for your safety you feed the horses over the fence but do not enter the horse paddock. You have free access to the chicken pen to collect your own eggs but if you would like assistance please let us know. Our chickens are very friendly and don't mind a cuddle and a scratch on the bum. Our minature Foxy dog Freckles and our loveable Ragdoll Cat Barry are also regular visitors to the cottage and always very popular with our guests! The cottage is located down 5km of well maintained dirt road coming from Maleny direction and 1km of dirt road coming from Obi Obi Road. A four wheel drive is not necessary however we do advise taking it slow if you are in a 2 wheel drive as the road is winding. As the rest of our farm is a working Cattle farm, for guest safety the cattle paddocks and the rest of the property are not accessible to guests.
