If you are looking for an off-grid and quiet cabin in the forest with miles of private hiking trails, we have just the place. The Kolts cabin has 3 full size mattresses. The Kolts is adjacent to a wet weather waterfall, has it's own grill and firepit and is close to the shared picnic tables, grill, port-a-potty and pavilion which is great for meals or a hammock spot under roof. Make sure to bring your own water as utilities are not available onsite. (There is no electricity or potable water) The cabin sleeps up to 6 on 3 double mattresses: 1 double bed and 2 lofts, each with a mattress and easily accessible by ladder. Linens are provided. There is also plenty of room for additional guests to pitch a tent or hang hammocks for a fee per night. Be prepared to drive on a rough gravel/dirt road for about a mile and half to reach the cabins. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain. We have a small propane heater available. You will need to bring your own Coleman disposable propane cylinders if you want to make use of it. Expect to use between 1 and 2 cylinders per night depending on temperature. My family and I had the most amazing time at the cabin. It has amazing views and was very accommodating for an off grid experience. It was truly a great place and an amazing experience.
Ruth and Robert were the best hosts! Very responsive and friendly and answered all our questions. We enjoyed our time here so much and the peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. The little cabin was cozy and well set up for our camping needs. The hiking was fun and got to see some beautiful views! We will recommend them to others and can’t wait to come again! Thank you!
By far the best place I've rented! Robert and Ruth were very kind and accommodating. Their property was very beautiful and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a remote, peaceful, and relaxing place. Lots of hiking trails and rocks to climb. We will be staying here in the future! 5 🌟!!! We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was comfy and cute. The weekend we stayed weather was very nice. The place is private and the whole area in general was relaxing quiet. Recommend to stay here. The owners are very nice and welcoming.
Wow! What a breathtaking experience! This was our second experience at Camp Chet this year, and while we only spent a few days in the cabins it was spectacular in every way of what our little family needed to unwind, disconnect, and reconnect with one another as a family! The camp area is secluded and on top of a mountain. The address is only an approximation of the campsite. We will guide you to the location at check-in. We have nearly 1000 acres of Tennessee forest with wet weather creeks to hike and explore with only the wildlife for neighbors!
Our check-in-time is between 2:00 - 6:00 pm cst. Because of it's secluded location, there is no exact address and we will meet you at our house/camp office and have you follow us into camp. Once you know the way in you will be able to easily come and go as you please!
We also offer a $30 UTV tour of the property for up to 4 people for one hour. This is a great way to preview areas you may want to hike to later or allow those that are unable to hike some of our steep slopes to see more of the camp. Please schedule with Camp Manager.

Camp Chet was founded with the purpose to help people encounter God through outdoor experiences. It encompasses 994 acres of private forested land on the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee. Come stay in one of our off-grid cabins, pick a tent campsite, bring your RV or if you want some utilities, try Bubbe's barn. We have miles of hiking trails. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir.
