Summer 2024. Directly on tidal Gloucester Harbor. Quiet, beautiful walks, great restaurants, theater and Shailin Lu nearby. We restored this 1850's house for our year round family home. This is a very comfortable and inviting home, with lots of light, a private backyard with beautiful gardens directly on the water. It is located on a dead end street with friendly neighbors. We enjoy the morning sun and watch the tide come and go along with a variety of sea life right out the front window. Welcome to RockyNeck. This a quiet, safe and friendly neighborhood. you will have off street parking, a private yard with multiple sitting places. There is a dock to swim/kayak off of, low tide is a great time to explore and collect seaglass and shells. There are beautiful gardens to enjoy. There is an additional (separate building) studio loft apartment sleeps 2, perfect extra space fully equipped. ( not for children) Barbecue grill is also available.

Mary’s home is lovely- the location is perfect, and the access to waterfront with kayaks/paddle boat is a wonderful bonus. We vacationed with our young children and they delighted in the tide pools and all of the wildlife to be found there. She has clear pride in her home and property- it is a special place. We would highly recommend.
Mary’s house is just beautiful. It is spacious and clean with stunning views of the ocean from nearly every room. We had a wonderful time here. The location is perfect—private and yet an easy walk to all that is Rocky Neck—shops, galleries, and restaurants. During this time of the ongoing pandemic, when we were reluctant to go out much, this house was ideal. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, and the front yard looks right out on the bay. It is a short drive to Good Harbor Beach and an easy walk to Niles. Mary is a very responsive and thoughtful host. A wonderful place!

Rocky Neck is a small quaint charming part of East Gloucester, it is actually an island connected by a causeway. You can walk to get breakfast/coffee/pastries, enjoy a nice restaurant on the water, go to local art galleries and enjoy local activities at the Rocky Neck Community Center, and Gloucester Stage Co. all is walking distance. Our house is on the quiet end of the Neck on a dead end street.
From Rocky Neck there are beautiful scenic walks to local beaches, the lighthouse and birdwatching sights, all along the harbor or oceanside.There is a local bus/trolly in the summer to take you to town or Rockport. There is also a much enjoyed water shuttle pick up in Rocky Neck to take you to various stops in downtown Gloucester.

I am not a native of Gloucester but have lived in this location for 46years and love it. I am happy to share my love of Rocky Neck, the beautiful ocean, gardens, art scene and sheer beauty of Cape Ann. There is plenty to do - or do nothing but relax on the rocks or nearby beaches.
