Vera’s place had spectacular views, it was clean and well equipped. We liked the breakfast that was offered. The place was secluded, with full of nature’s noises, birds singing at all times. Ideal for those who want to get away from the city. However it was not far from notable tourist sites.

This is a perfect place to stay for mini vacation or longer in the hills of Cartago. We highly recommend Vera’s house if you are looking for a peaceful getaway, astounding views, cleanliness, short distance driving to daily excursions and silly bird songs from the wildlife. We had a great Tico breakfast delivered daily, which was perfect way to start our day and we were extremely well taken care of by Vera’s caretakers. They were more than gracious and extremely friendly. We had no problem finding the house and the directions are perfect. My family lives in Costa Rica and I would recommend driving an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive anyplace you visit across Costa Rica not only in this area. Highly recommend visiting the Lankester Botanical Gardens. Vera’s guidebook is spot on. We used it for planning most all our trip.

Vera's place was spotlessly clean, quiet, and well-equipped with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. It's obvious that Vera has put a lot of thought and care into making the rental cozy and functional. The views from the rental are stunning and the entire property is quiet and peaceful.

La casa es tal como en las fotos, linda vista. Don Miguel, Mari y Jesus fueron muy amables y serviciales. Lo único a tomar en cuenta sería el acceso hasta la finca ya que puede que no requiera un vehículo 4X4, pero si uno alto con llantas grandes, ya que es subiendo y la grava es suelta, nuestro vehículo es un automóvil Hyundai elantra motor 1800 CC y derrapó mucho por lo que decidimos no seguir subiendo, Don Miguel nos ayudó con una amiga que muy amablemente nos dejó dejar el vehículo en su casa, y Miguel y Jesus nos bajaban en las mañanas y nos subían en las tardes con el carro de la finca. Aún así se hizo algo incómodo ya que si queríamos salir por ejemplo de noche a cenar no lo pudimos hacer ninguna de las 3 noches que nos alojamos pues no contábamos con nuestro vehículo cerca.
