Cocue Guazu is a district of Aregua - the "pottery town on Lake Ypacarai.
The neighbours are warm-hearted, helpful and not closed. Even if you don't understand or speak Spanish at all, or only a little, you are never "left out in the cold" - you will always be helped.
There are a few small despensas in the neighbourhood where you can buy essentials, bread, milk, drinks, etc. You can also get hot snacks here. Hot snacks are also available here. Several pizzerias and snack bars are happy to bring their delicious dishes directly to your home.
To Aregua It takes about 3 minutes by car. Here you can find everything you need to live. Supermarkets, cash machines, two banks, petrol stations, pharmacies, doctors, hairdressers, pizzerias, restaurants and everything else you can imagine.
Lake Ypacarai is just 4 minutes away by car.
For families who come with children, there are state schools as well as 2 public schools which are 5 minutes away by car.
There are large shopping centres in San Lorenzo, about 30 minutes by car, and in Asuncion, about 40 minutes by car. Here you can find everything you might be missing in Aregua.
PERMANENTE AND CEDULA
Also easy and fast to reach are all authorities to apply for the Paraguayan residence permit and the cedula.

TRANSPORT
A bus line stops 30 metres from the front door and takes you to the centre of Aregua. There you will find connections to Asuncion, Capiata or Caacupe every 10 minutes.
You can buy fresh fruit and vegetables from private cultivation on almost every corner.
Taxis are also available, they are very cheap and reliable. You can also have an "Uber" come to you. This also works smoothly, and virtually at any time of the day or night.
If you want to rent a car for the duration of your stay, you have a choice from Sixt, to other larger companies, to smaller car rental companies, some of which we know well and can recommend at any time.
EXCURSIONS
The Capilla in Caacupe is known throughout South America. Hundreds of thousands of people go there on foot every year in December.
From the bus terminal in Asuncion you can also get to Buenos Aires, Rio je Janeiro, Peru, Chile and many other destinations at very reasonable prices.
The excursion destination San Bernadino can be reached in 20 minutes by car, it is located on the other side of Lake Ypacarai. Ypacarai is practically the only lake in Paraguai, and THE weekend destination for many Asuncioners.
