The villa was really lovely, we really liked it because it was very rustic, yet homely. The swimming pool was an exciting 5min walk away - through the vineyard, a locked gate and up some ancient steps in woodland. It was worth the walk! There were some local festivals happening when we stayed which meant a lot of fireworks and sometimes music during the evenings. Luckily it wasn’t every night of our week long stay. We enjoyed catching the train to Porto (just over an hour door to door). Benedita also recommended another local vineyard which you could visit for a picnic (amazing food & wine!) in their gardens. We did however sometimes find it difficult to choose other activities to do with our young children in the local area. Benedita was a very kind and helpful host - she was very quick to respond to our questions. Thank you!

The house is absolutely beautiful and very quiet. Benedeta is a very kind person, she gave us a lot of recommendations and we felt very welcomed. We really enjoyed our stay!

three cheers for Benedita at Casa Cabenelas! you will have a very sweet time, and the property is absolutely gorgeous. the guest house is a bit of a walk from the entrance to the property, the last portion of it quite grassy. but it only looks long because there's so much space around you to take in between the Casa and the surrounding hillsides! the property was quite dusty and cobwebbed upon our arrival but we cleared them out with ease. the hot water was accidentally shut off for approximately two hours at the start of our arrival, but Benedita dealt with it as quickly as possible and continued to check in through the next day. one thing to note: don't rely on ride share services to pick you up out here! there's a bus line or two nearby, and a train station within driving distance, but the property is far enough from the city that they run quite infrequently. highly recommend renting a car if you plan to visit the beach or Oporto! i had some of the best days of my life here!

This house and the surround vineyard settings were truly beautiful. The decor was rustic but also with modern twist, everything had been thought about. We loved it!! We had lovely evenings on the terrace with the sun setting. And the 50s pool was stunning, at the top of some magical steps, it felt like we were on a film set! Benedita was super welcoming and helpful, and gave us a real insight to the history of this magnificent vineyard and the main building. Absolutely recommend this place!
