I was able to make a rushed last minute reservation and Kevin got everything ready and it worked out ok. The green line train is practically across the street so getting downtown is easy. The place is comfortable, well themed, fully furnished with a full kitchen that has everything you need, and there's laundry downstairs. And the bathroom has a weirdly good ventilation fan which I just feel like mentioning. Just don't water the succulents as they are actually plastic. Overall I had a great time.

Perfect location for stay in Oak Park. Close to restaurants and public transportation. Parking a plus. YMCA across the alley and for longer stays a monthly pass is available for reasonable cost. Has everything needed from bathroom and kitchen ammenities to comfortable bed and furniture. Nicely decorated as well.

Kevin is a great host. He cares about his units, he's got great communication skills, and his directions for check-in and check-out are always crystal clear. My partner and I have stayed in several of his spots in Oak Park. They're consistently clean, well-maintained and stocked with everything you need: Kitchen supplies, coffee, creamer, extra towels, extra blankets, etc. Check-in is via a lockbox, and if there are any issues, Kevin is quick to respond. Parking is also a breeze (back of the building and off the street). The neighborhood itself is very walkable. There's a 7-11 nearby, and downtown Oak Park (shops, major stores, restaurants) is a 3-minute walk. We'll definitely be returning!

Kevin's place is great. What I appreciate the most is that Kevin is a Super Host and basically has Airbnb's in the whole building. His apartments are not for short term use. You must rent for the month at least. You can't rent for 2 or 3 days and vacate. This is really great if you think about it. For those of us that need long term housing, this policy adds additional assurances of safety. Everyone around you is there for at least a month. It eliminates a revolving door of tenants and cuts down on any possible issues of safety as a result. The apartments are all fully furnished and there's nothing you need to bring except your personal belongings. You will have to purchase toiletries and such once you run out of the initial supply that is provided. All in all I give the place a 9 out of 10. The only caveat is the apartments are vintage and there's not a ton of sound dampening insulation between ceiling and the hardwood floors. I was on the top floor so not really a problem for me. However, my down stairs neighbors complained a few times that they could hear me walking above them in the bedroom. So be cognizant of the fact that people below you can be disturbed if you aren't careful.

Pros: Very clean and organized Nice decoration and good furniture in general Pretty close to the green line that goes to the downtown area Lots of restaurants close by Parking behind the building is great Cons: Coin laundry is annoying - need to scavenge for quarters (Walgreens is your best chance) Wall AC units are pretty noisy Kitchen is very small, no dish washer Traffic in the area is not great specially if you are going to drive towards downtown Communication wasn’t great - there are some automated messages that are great, with all the details needed, but host doesn’t keep up with responding, there were 2 or 3 messages I sent that were never answered, and one that was more urgent I had to follow up. Thankfully there were no emergencies during our stay so we were fine.
