Nether Heage · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Windmill Cottage
Renovated cottage in the pretty village of Nether Heage, over looking the grade 2 listed Heage windmill and just a 6 minute drive from the vibrant town of Belper.
The Cottage is very pleasent in the Derbyshire countryside. Simple but comfortable. Thanks to John for clear comunication and an enjoyable stay.
What a fabulous cottage! Beautiful and peaceful! Cosy, and suited our needs exactly. John was an excellent host, coming out to help us understand the heating on our first night, and offering advice on local amenities too. We had an amazing stay, just what we needed, and everything exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again. Thanks John!
We loved our stay. It was beautifully warm and restful with wonderful views. We would definitely go back.
Lovely place to stay. Comfortable beds and good indoor heating. A small jug of milk in the fridge for guests to make a cup of tea on arrival would be a nice touch- we had flown all the way from Australia and driven from London and had to go back out to find a shop. We were also unable to get the wood fireplace to work properly- it went out every time we closed the door. Overall I would recommend this place to other people.
Heage Windmill
Built in 1797 and restored in 2002, Heage Windmill is a Grade II* listed building, the only working six-sailed stone tower windmill in England. She is set in the Derbyshire countryside, providing spectacular views towards the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Car parking is available on site. Visitors can go on tours with guides normally in costume. There is also an Interpretation Centre and a shop selling souvenirs, light refreshments and the windmill’s own flour. Groups are welcome by prior arrangement. Look out for special events throughout the year.
The Great British car journey
The Great British Car Journey features more than 150 British cars from the Austin Seven to the latest McLaren.
Using our handheld audiovisual tablet, you’ll be guided round the experience which tells the untold story of a century of the British car industry.
You will meet the key characters who built this great industry, including Herbert Austin and William Morris whose vast Midlands factories produced millions of cars sold all over the world.
It is a story of enterprise, endeavour and engineering which, for a number of years, made car manufacturing the most important industry in Britain. The classic Mini, the Morris Minor and the immortal Austin Seven, as well as the Morris Marina, Austin Allegro and Ford Anglia, will all bring back memories of a time when British cars ruled our roads.
Austin and Morris were consigned to the history books many years ago as were dozens of other once familiar British marques. However, south of Matlock on the approach to the Peak District National Park, these cars are experiencing a come-back!
