The location is beautiful and the view is what drew us to pick this location. It was an easy drive into downtown Halifax, and lots of local beaches. Plenty of food and amenities nearby. The hot tub was a nice touch at the end of a long day, perfect for star gazing. The only downsides were the lack of lighting down the driveway and on the property as we arrived late evening, the volleyball court (which was listed) had no net or ball which was disappointing, the tap water was brownish (we were told this was normal & jug water was provided), and the stains on the sofa. Areas like the countertop, behind the sofas, and the linens could've been cleaner as well. No dishwasher detergent was provided either. All in all, the open concept, plentiful windows, and the overall view is what made the stay here memorable for us.

Chris' place was very easy to find and located in a wonderful area. It had a sleepy surf-town vibe and many beaches/lakes within close driving distance. There is a wonderful bike trail on the road leading into Chris' house which has spectacular water views. We were fortunate to have blue skies during our trip and the sunsets from the large windows in the house were incredible. The only downside was that we couldn't use the outdoor area much due to mosquitoes - Nova Scotia has had unprecedented rainfall this summer, so we assume that's why, but nonetheless we had a wonderful vacation. The house is about a 30 minute drive to downtown Halifax which we frequented often with our two little children.

this is a hard review. place was gorgeous. I had asked Chris to supply a bit more firepit wood which he did and refused compensation. there were just a few- maybe nit picky- items that kept this rent as a " good" not an excellent. running out of propane on our first night with steaks ready to grill was a letdown having to run out and buy salt tedious. not having enough supplied dish detergent- again - not expected. having a washer and dryer a big plus but, alas, the two containers of detergent were empty. we purchased some and left it for the next guest ( we only did one load) this place is close. I just think a little more attention to detail is needed. the bathroom, while clean, had no place to put a make up bag or shaving kit down. no shelves. the shower was similar. your soap and shampoo had to be placed on the floor. it just didn't make sense. privacy and location were extremely nice.

Chris’ place is awesome! It’s a great space, in a pristine location. The unit is exactly as described. Chris was a great host. I highly recommend!
