My second time staying at the Niksen House and this time was even more magical. The cabin itself is a thoughtfully designed and lovely space to hunker down for some relaxation or a little work if need be. Venturing out to the nearby local nature hideaways is also very special. You can walk to pristine beaches and forest trails right from the cabin. And of course, it is very appreciated to be able to bring my fur-child. Thank you Michelle for another wonderful getaway experience at the Niksen House!

WOW what an incredible little place! This a-frame is just as dreamy in person as it is in the pictures. We are already planning our next stay! Everything from the mugs, stocked spices and some condiments to the windows and moss surrounding the home—it is perfect!

This cabin has been on my wishlist since moving to Portland so we were really excited for our quick getaway! With the exception of a rooster that was going berserk next door the entire time, everything was perfect! Truly I thought roosters only crowed in the morning.. Back to the place - You can hear the river from the deck, where I spent hours reading. The interior is a Scandinavian dream! I found myself going from room to room to take advantage of every reading nook. My husband went boarding on Saturday and it took him less than 30 minutes to get to the mountain so this location is great if you’re into that. Kitchen had everything we needed. Fireplace was cozy and easy to start with the kindling provided. Bedrooms were comfortable and designed thoughtfully. But the best part of my stay was the water avenue coffee. It’s one of our favs and to wake up to that was a nice surprise. This place was 10/10. If you’re thinking of a cabin trip look no further!!

We loved our time at Michelle’s cabin. It was the perfect place to be cozy by the fire after a day of skiing, cook a meal and just relax. We loved listening to the rain fall on the skylights and looking out at the mossy trees. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of games to keep our kids entertained. We would happily stay here again in the future!
