Our stay at Fernbank was magical. We set out to have a Spring Break where the emphasis would be on meaningful time together as a family, and we experienced that and more at Jim’s & Betty June’s incredible homestead. Starting with their gracious hospitality, we also greatly enjoyed the beauty of the lake, the free range chickens & eggs, and the endless recreational activities (pinball, ping pong, paddle boarding, basketball - the list goes on). It was a dream come true for our kids. And it was easy to get to nearby towns, hikes and all the amenities Gainesville has to offer. We were even lucky enough to be there right after Dixie Bell the lab gave birth to 12 puppies. The apartment itself is clean and well-equipped. And the four of us were comfortable and cozy the entire time. The best part of our stay had to be Jim & Betty June. Fernbank is clearly a labor of love, and that love extends to all who visit. We hope to be back again sometime soon!

Jim’s place was perfect for our little family getaway. We were greeted by Jim and his wife Betty June right away and they were very sweet. Their chocolate lab and chickens will also come to greet you too! The location is beautiful! The bed was comfy. It’s all one room but we made it work for the 3 of us. We will definitely visit again next year when we’re in town!
