Chamonix is composed of several ski areas: Les Houches, Flégère / Brévent, Grands Montets, Le Tour / Vallorcine and of course the famous Aiguille du Midi area. Each of those ski areas is different and it is actually quite attractive to have no less than 5 different ski areas (with different flavour) at your doorstep. There certainly is some skiing for everyone. Les Houches ski area (where Chalet Norel is located) is more family oriented and with easier ski options. There is plenty of skiing to be done for beginners. It also offers some great sunny terraces and mountain restaurants, so all in all, quite a great package for family / easier relaxing skiing.
There is a great spa facility that is pretty close to the chalet: Deep Nature Spa, at 1.0km from the chalet. Great facility, great views. We also know some great therapists and can arrange massages at the chalet.

Chalet Kuma is accessible all-year around by car (ideally a 4wd car in winter). It is located 3.5 km from the centre of Les Houches village where one can find restaurants and shops. If the guests wish to go to Chamonix town, it will take about 10~15 min drive (11 km) where they will find many restaurants, shopping and entertainment of all kinds. In the winter, ski school is available in Les Houches and one can either drive down (1.5 km) or ski down in just a few minutes.
