In a beautiful rural setting, attached to 'Moulin Toucan', a 300 year old mill house, this newly renovated Gîte offers an idyllic retreat in nature. Wake up with the sound of the river and decide how you want to spend the day. With plenty of activities in the area or your own private pool and outdoor BBQ area, there is always something to do. This fully equipped ground level Gîte sleeps up to 6 and offers an ideal location for family groups. Conveniently located 25 mins from Limoges airport. The lounge and dining areas are very comfortable and the new, fully equipped kitchen has everything for your catering needs. All bedrooms (2 double beds, 2 twin beds and a pull out sofa) have high quality mattresses, linen and a variety of pillows, to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The Gîte also has full facilities to accommodate a baby, on request. The modern and light bathroom is equipped with a vanity unit, mirror, light, combination bath/shower, washbasin and a toilet. The garden has been designed for maximum versatility with an exterior dining area, shaded relaxation area, BBQ “kitchen”, play area and above all, the private river, pool and sunbathing deck. For the sun-worshippers, the pool area benefits from direct sunshine throughout the day. For those wishing to escape the heat, the cool area next to the river is ideal to sit and enjoy a drink, listen to music and read a book. You might also be lucky and spot the local Kingfisher as it looks for a meal in the river under the trees. An ideal spot to unwind and relax alongside the calming and relaxing sound of nature and the river.

We had a wonderful stay as a family - including my 18month old, who had everything she needed including high chair and a travel cot. The Gite is lovely and finished to a high spec, including the pool, and there is a lovely area to sit and have coffee/lunch by the babbling stream. Gareth and Beryl were on hand to help with anything we needed- including sourcing a location to watch some English Premier League football- and were very accommodating of our late check out. Would highly recommend this is a place to stay.
Our family 4 adults plus a 10 and 3 year old spent a lovely week in this gite tucked away in rural France despite the cool weather which meant we did not use the super clean pool much. The outside area is private, paved and there were lots of things to amuse adults and children. The table and chairs sit inside a gazebo with handy insect netting. The gite has an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with the 3 bedrooms and bathroom leading off that. A very useful addition to the gite is the second toilet outside. Beryl and Gareth have thought of everything including the best welcome pack we have ever had and were great hosts.
Le lieu est magnifique, un endroit très paisible. le logement est propre et confortable. Il y a tout ce qu'il fait pour se détendre et se ressourcer. Béryl et Gareth sont très accueillants et agréables.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en mai 2023 dans ce beau gîte très bien équipé: cuisine, terrasses, salle d’eau, chambres, bébé/enfants (de nombreux jeux, chaise haute, pot, jeux d’extérieur/intérieur), et une très bonne literie. L’endroit est paisible et charmant, nous recommandons fortement! Merci Gareth et Béryl!
Beryl and Gareth are amazing hosts. We had cause to stay in France for longer than we expected and had no hesitation in extending our booking with them. We definitely recommend this lovely Gite to anyone wishing to stay in this part of France.

There are plenty of walks around the Gîte of various levels, ranging from a nice stroll along the river to more challenging rambles in and around Mont de Blond, which is also great for mountain biking. A perfect way of enjoying the lovely views with a picnic.
Locally, there are some very authentic bars and restaurants to cater for all budgets, although you will need a car to benefit from these! There are also tourist attractions nearby ranging from museums and shopping in Limoges and Poitiers, the sobering wartime memorial at Aradour-sur-Glane, high-ropes and a variety of water sports at Lac de Saint-Pardoux, kayaking at Confolens, Exideuil on the River Vienne and a waterpark at Poitiers.

Conviently situated within 25 minutes of Limoges airport and 10 minutes of the picturesque town of Bellac. The Gîte is ideally situated, however, to benefit from all the local tourist attractions and access the local shops, towns and villiages a car is essential for your visit.

Hello! We are Beryl and Gareth Evans and we are the very proud owners of Moulin Toucan. We ended up with a beautiful 300 year old water mill which over the years had been neglected and unloved. We could see the potential and set out on the renovations and rebuild. We have been very busy over the last few years and have all but rebuilt both the Moulin and the attached Gîte, along with landscaping the extensive gardens and islands. We concluded the main developments in July, 2019. Once we decided to operate the Gîte as a holiday rental, we set about trying to create an environment to a standard that we would be happy to stay in, we sincerely believe we have come a very long way in achieving that. We would be extremely pleased for you to join us and experience some of the joy we feel from this naturally beautiful setting, At Moulin Toucan we have tried to create an environment where you can come for a completely stress free holiday, adults can relax and socialise, whilst children can play and swim. There are stunning places nearby to explore and eat out, or equally stay in and prepare your own meals both in and outdoors on the long summer evenings. Relax, unwind, reconnect, rebuild, sleep, eat, drink, explore and enjoy. The quiet location and private facilities with a sensitive balance between old character and modern facilities, with access to local attractions and travel facilities makes this a stress free venue for the perfect holiday.
