As Lawford Lodge is situated on a working dairy farm, the surrounding fields have cattle, calves and sheep (and lambs in spring) to see. By prior arrangement and when available, guests can enjoy a tour around the farm or visit the wildlife duck pond. Guests can also bring their horse or pony, by prior arrangement, as there is a field in front of the lodge and two equestrian centres close by. With so much to do at Lawford Lodge, you may not want to leave! However, if you do wish to explore, there’s plenty to do in the local area. For a great family day out, visit The Falkirk Wheel on the Forth and Clyde Canal. It’s only 5 miles away and has lots of activities to suit all ages and tastes including boat trips, canoeing, bike hire, a waterpark, canal and woodland walks, café and gift shop. Falkirk town centre has lots of places to eat and drink, events and activities all year round. The shopping centre has a great selection of independent boutiques, gift shops and high street names. Local attractions and visitor centres include The Helix, which is home to The Kelpies: the largest equine sculptures in the world, and Callendar House and Park, a 14th-century French-style château house with a working Georgian kitchen.
