This quiet retreat lives up to the promise of its description and photos! We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming white-steepled former church turned into a homey and thoughtfully styled sanctuary. It exceeds all expectations. The experience is truly one-of-a-kind, making our days here both relaxing and filled with delightful surprises. The former congregation room is a haven of tranquility, with whimsical touches that continued to capture our attention even after several days. The owners have masterfully transformed this space into a perfect blend of hominess and elegance. A highlight for us was the cozy fireplace, further enhancing the remarkable charm of the space. The large fenced-in yard was a perfect spot for our furry friends, and we were thrilled to discover that this was, by far, the most pet-friendly place we have ever stayed. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful, pet-friendly retreat with a touch of quirky sophistication.

This home is quite simply magical. There is a beauty to staying in an early 19th century church that cannot be captured in a photo, although the photos do a great job of parlaying the beauty of the remodel, interior design and finishing touches. We came in the winter and found the heating quickly adjusted to our needs, especially with the cozy wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is state of the line and a dream to cook in. Sunlight beams in through the massive church windows from a different angles, moving throughout the day around the home. The acoustics in the main space are to die for, as it was originally designed for choir singing. That really helps bring the home theater to life. If you’re coming in the warmer months, the cozy outdoor garden and gorgeous landscaping provide an extended space to lounge and dine out.

Matthew and Shawn’s church house is really unique. They have made this big open space very cozy and elegant while keeping some of the charm the structure provided. There were so many cool elements and surprises at every turn. The kitchen was great to cook in, and had a ton of dish ware and server ware to use. (There were also great instructions on how to use the appliances) The fireplace was super cool, and there was a generous amount of wood. The fenced in backyard was such a plus for the dogs, and would be a great space to hang in the summer! Messaging with them was seamless- Def will be going back!
