Upon arriving, and re-looking at the listing, it is 'as described' (except it's not a loft). You do have a private bathroom. No fridge on your side but could utilize theirs (I wouldn't be in and out of their space for a midnight fridge craving though). Wifi. I was aware of the dogs per the listing, but wasn't prepared for the ode-de-dog. If you're sensitive to smells, or pet hair/dander I would look elsewhere. You are very much in nature, and bugs are a part of that...there were a few beetles that were in the house, one sadly joining me in bed (thank goodness my friend knew it was a beetle and not something else). There is a small space heater and electric blanket. In the morning we did hear heat blowing. Bring slippers...

Johnny was a very responsive and gracious host. His spot in the woods near Harriman State Park is very beautiful. We were thoroughly occupied with a conference a short distance away so could not take as much advantage as we would have liked, but we did enjoy the colors immensely.

This little place was perfect for me - it was on the way home from my business trip and I wanted a place to decompress and be in nature. It was a beautiful state forest setting, complete with wild turkeys and an owl at night. It reminded me of being at girl scout camp when I was little! I got to rest and watch a movie on their tv. My hosts were there to greet me and gave me some breakfast in the morning that met my dietary needs which was very thoughtful. The little dogs were very well behaved and cute. I love being in nature so for me it was perfect -only 45 minutes north of my conference and an hour and a half home today.

Jon and Tracy treated us with such kindness, respect, and warmth. Their home is clean and so cozy, surrounded by the area’s stunning natural beauty. We came in verdant summer but can only imagine how gorgeous then other months must be, too. The breakfast was so delicious, carefully prepared and served with mind to our schedule. The bed was insanely comfortable. The dogs are adorable. Jon and Tracy were consummate hosts, making us feel welcome and comfortable. We hope to book this amazing spot again soon!
