Brought my husband here for his birthday. We were able to have a nice intimate weekend and everything we needed to cook and keep clean was readily available. The back porch upstairs had a great view and we saw deer drinking water at the watering hole out back everyday. The fire pit outside was awesome and allowed us to relax and hang out and enjoy the stars at night. Definitely would recommend if you want to have the amenities of a house with the feel of a cabin and privacy.

Very peaceful and secluded cabin in the forest at the foot of the monzano mnts. About a 15-20 minute drive on country roads to Mountainaire. Super quiet, lots of wildlife. The cabin is well done and comfortable. Suprized it is all "off grid", only thing we didn't have was a microwave, but not a problem. Great place to relax, nap, read, hike, etc. Also a great base for anyone wanting to spend time hiking the monzanos. A major forest road with trail heads is just a few minutes further up the mountain.

Perfect for what we needed! We usually go to Ruidoso but needed something closer to Albuquerque for our daughter who had to work and couldn't come up until later after check-in. The drive up was scenic, maps can be tricky so follow Waynes directions, they were SPOT ON and got us there no problem. After the first night, we didnt want to leave! Its very remote with no noise from any surrounding traffic or neighbors minus a few random vehicles from others who live farther up. Tons of wildlife, a lot of them come to drink at the pond out back. We saw deer, alberts squirrels, bats at sunset, chipmunks and a lot of different birds (woodpeckers, blue jays, hummingbirds, hawks, falcons and more). We enjoyed drinking coffee on the 2nd floor enclosed porch in the morning and napping up there during the day watching listening to nature. Bbqing on the front deck at night with the firepit each night 👌. Be ready to unplug, no WIFI here and phone service can be spotty. Cant wait to come back!
