I planned a last-minute, quick getaway to Victoria from Vancouver to visit family and friends there. I was traveling with my mom and my five kids and worried about finding a good place for us to stay. Cindy's place was perfect! We had enough space for everyone and awesome views of the ocean. We were able to "host" a couple of the friends we were seeing there and bring along our own food. We enjoyed relaxing at the AirBnB in between exploring and visiting. A huge perk was the little toy room, complete with bin of Legos and other toys, which my almost 5-year-old absolutely loved. Cindy's welcome instructions made it easy to find her place and the little notes all over the AirBnB helped us find our way around (we were particularly happy to see the note saying, "Please use the fireplace as it warms this area up nicely!" and my teen spent quite a bit of time curled up in front of the fireplace reading).

While the location, scenery, and spaciousness were wonderful (and as advertised), I saw no reference in the list of features that the house would be shared with a person living in the above-level part of the house. The furniture appeared to be left-overs and at least one rug in the bedroom on the right was stained and filthy. At least one of the mattresses (where we tried to sleep), was so old and soft tht it was unsleepable (other reviewers have noted this). Two different couples tried to sleep on it, and none of the four people were able to. When I shot a note to Jack (who was pretty responsive to our needs), he went upstairs and brought down a mattress (not sure if he had been sleeping on it). Not a way to run a rental. Since 4 couples were staying in the house, we need to have at least 2 keys. Jack noted that the owners generally don't provide a second key, although he brought one down. Only one key for 8 people?...really? Lastly, there were worn-out, tacky notes all over the house. Certainly would have been better to have a fact-sheet with reference information to everything visitors need. This place has a lot of potential, but it is in need of significant improvements to make it worth the money.

My family loved our stay here! The property is beautiful with an amazing view, and the house was very clean and comfortable. Communication with the host was great, he responded quickly and helped out with all our questions. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the area!

The property was the basement level of a house. It accommodated the 4 couples of our family okay as it served a purpose. The property is dated and the beds are not very good. I think quite expensive for this level of property.
