The Cottage is spacious with a homely and welcoming feel, offering a comfortable and relaxing stay. It has a fully equipped modern kitchen and a large lounge with a wood-burning stove that adds to the cosy cottage feel. There is a patio for alfresco dining and is perfectly placed for watching the many birds that visit. The cottage is a good base to visit and explore the Scottish Borders towns which are rich in history and culture. The cottage comfortably sleeps 2 - 5 people. The Cottage is a stone farm building that has been sympathetically converted to offer a relaxing and comfortable stay all year round. The living room, with two large comfy sofas and a wood-burning stove, is perfect for kicking back and watching your favourite TV and DVDs. We have a range of DVDs, books and games for everyone to enjoy. Most guests are entranced by the amount and variety of birds who visit the feeders just outside the patio doors. It's very easy to spend time watching their antics! You can guess what they are or look them up in our bird books. The back garden is enclosed by gates. There is a great size fully equipped modern dining kitchen, making mealtimes easier for all. The large bathroom has a separate bath and shower enclosure and is a good size for family living. Bed linens and towels, heating, hot water and WiFi are all included at no extra charge. We can also supply a travel cot and high chair if you'd like to use them, just let us know when you book your stay (please bring your own cot bedding for your little one) A short walk from the patio leads you (through a gate) to a rustic fire pit area to enjoy during the long summer nights with views of the fields and Teviot River at the bottom of the garden. There is a path down to the river (which is steep and not suitable for everyone). However, you can still enjoy the views and the sound of the babbling river in the seating area overlooking the hills. Although the cottage is great for families, it's not too big for couples looking for a quiet retreat.
