The windmill is even more amazing in person than it is in the pictures! The views, including of the town, landscape, and sunset are incredible. The property itself has so many thoughtful amenities and great features, including bluetooth speakers inside and outside, great lighting, including reading, stair, and outdoor mood lights, a toilet and sink on the third floor so if you're sleeping up there you don't have to go all the way downstairs to get ready for bed or go to the bathroom, a hot tub, outdoor lounge area, and beautiful outside sitting area that is on the side of the hill. The inside of the windmill is also filled with so much character and is absolutely beautifully remodeled. Maria was a wonderful host - she is so kind and helpful. She was very responsive and met us for check-in and check-out. She even left snacks for the afternoon and morning! I would absolutely stay here again and wish I could have extended my stay to get even more time here. You won't regret booking this!

Maria’s windmill was a spectacularly unique place with incredible views in a picturesque setting. She was a very nice and helpful host. The house is well stocked and great for families. Maria even placed eggs, bread, and ham in the fridge for us to have something in the morning. It’s a short (5 min) drive to the beach in Limnia or Limnos where there are great restaurants and beach bars. Volissos has a restaurants and a grocery store as well. If you have very small kids or mobility issues be aware that the stairs to the bedrooms are steep and narrow. Also we were there during a heatwave and the bedrooms got very hot, even with windows open at night and fans running.

Maria & Odysseus’s windmill in Volissos is such a unique and memorable experience. Not only are the 360 views from the windmill unbelievably beautiful (you see the whole village, the water, the mountains, and an old castle), but inside the windmill feels like a fairytale. To top it all off, the hosts Maria and Odyssea are some of the loveliest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They went above and beyond for us multiple times! For those who aren’t familiar with the area - go to Agia Markella while you’re there. It’s a short drive away, with a monastery and walking path to an important religious site of the island. There’s a great beach and also a beach restaurant, so everything you need for a perfect day. The windmill is a great great stay, and something you won’t forget!
