The carpets were filthy with black/grey dog hairs. When I found the vacuum cleaner it wouldn’t work properly and when I investigated I found it was full of dog hairs. I contacted Sykes multiple times as did Airbnb on my behalf but Sykes never replied.

We found there was sufficient crockery and cutlery for our needs. The outside space although small was nice to sit in. Check in straight forward. Double bed very low but reasonably comfortable. There is noise from the road for the two front bedrooms. The house had been made Covid safe - no cushions and books wrapped up. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. It looked as if the sofa hadn’t been pulled out in some time as the carpet needed hoovering, cobwebs removed and the downstairs toilet needed a good clean, sink and skirting grubby. The location is good, 5 minute walk to the bus stop and about 15 to the beach.

I think it is fine if you aren’t going to be there a lot, and use it as somewhere to explore the area from. It is on a busy road and the outside enclosed area does not get the sun and could be improved with better furniture and more plants and be cleaner to then make the cost of the property more worth it. I was told that as I was there on my own that I should have looked for somewhere smaller and cheaper but in June during Covid there was nothing else available in that area, unfortunately. I appreciated the Welcome pack, thank you, and that there was a parking spot right by the house.

Enjoyed our time the cottage. Great location for walking into Charmouth and the beach.
