Myself, my husband and our 4 month old daughter recently stayed in one of Paddy’s ark floating homes (the red and white one?). We had the most wonderful stay, the arks are moored on a very peaceful stretch of the river and we enjoyed watching the cruisers and wildlife pass us by each day. The ark itself is very comfortable and is equipped with everything you might need for a short stay. The location is beautiful and tranquil, the sunrises and sunsets where breath-taking and we could have watched the swans and fish jumping in the river all day. Despite feeling like you are away from things the ark is conveniently located about 15 minutes from Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon. What Paddy has achieved with the floating homes is just amazing! They are so comfortable, in a beautiful setting and really clean and well looked after. If you are looking for a break in beautiful setting look no further than the Arks! Thanks a million Paddy! We hope to get back to stay in the Ark again soon!

Our stay was the best it possibly could be. Very peaceful surroundings and very private. As a fisherman myself i was very intrested in this place and it turned out to be right. Caught atleast 30 fish mixed species just using a hook and worm including a nice chunky 2 and half LB perch and a lil jack pike caught on a lure, all within 20 feet of the front door of the place. Sitting on the front porch you can expect to see buzzards and herons and all kind of natures wonder's living from the river... really is a slice of heaven

This is a very special place to stay, and Paddy is an excellent host. The accommodation is excellent, beds and bedding top quality and the living area is very comfortable. We visited a local alpaca farm and spent time in Rosses point and Strandhill both about 45 mins away. There's a dinghy available to take trips up and down the river. The best thing about this house is sitting on the deck watching the boats. Very chilled after the few days away.

The boathouse is one of the most special places we've stayed. We enjoyed being nestled among the boats, watching the boats go by and the calmness of the water. Knockvicar looped walk is a hidden gem - bring wellies. Lough key forest also very close by. We stayed for 3 nights and ate two nights in the Italian restaurant in the marina - really excellent food which is why we returned for a second night in a row. Paddy is a really excellent host and we hope to return for a long weekend again.

Paddy is a gent. Area is a little gem. Even caught pike! Highly recommend the whole experience
