Simon was great. Very friendly and very responsive. He met us at our car, showed us around, and when leaving he walked us back to our car. The size of the apartment was great. Plenty of room. Beds were comfy. The living room couch and chair could use an update. Staying there felt like visiting a grandparent. Lots of personal pictures and paintings of Simon and his family. If you are looking for a private place to stay, this may or may not be for you. When entering into the apartment the whole wall is glass doors and windows. So you are completely exposed to anyone entering the building and going up to Simons floor. We only saw Simon twice during our two night stay.. But we felt like we had to be presentable to sit in the kitchen in case he came down the stairs. There is also a grandfather clock that rings every hour, which was startling some hours during the night since we are not used to it. So may be an issue if you are a light sleeper.

This place is wonderfully charming and full of history. The images don’t even do it justice because the warm and cosy atmosphere are hard to capture . Add the welcoming character of Simon and you have a golden combination. Simon is a most helpful and pleasant host, and full of stories and for sure in for a joke or two. The house is in a very quiet location right in the center of charming Crotes de la Frontera. From here it is a short drive to many beautiful walks and sights. Very good base to explore this part of Andalucia!

Fantastic place as per photos and previous reviews. Very spacious and clean- well stocked kitchen. Spent several evenings around the table with Simon engaged in lively conversations. Nice village with access to restaurants and groceries & nearby hiking trails. Highly recommend
