Lower duplex apartment. Beautifully furnished and in a mid century modern/ early 70s feel. :) Things to expect here: An acre of land, many ongoing projects, a peaceful retreat, a creative space, organic gardening, fruit trees, koi pond, flowers, in season, swarms of butterflies, in season and a small flock of chickens, all the time. There is television and WiFi. To see what we are about, check out our other Springfield Airbnbs: Dragonfly Apartment and The Hermit's Hideaway This apartment is the lower level of a 1939 Duplex. The Duplex shares an acre of land with a house originally built in 1859, now a tri-plex. We live in the upper unit of the tri-plex. This apartment is set up to look like you've walked into a 1970s early 80s home. Decorating was alot of fun...we are regulars at Goodwill. :) Have a working atari, super nintendo, vhs player, 8 track tape player - and other older technology. Oh and a kind of hidden clubhouse area with blacklights and blacklight posters. :) We poured our hearts into this apartment, we love it and have loved sharing it with people since 2018. But, we are very strict about the no party/no outside visitors without prior approval policy. There is a calm and tranquil environment here. There will always be projects going on in and around the yard, always a bit of controlled chaos. Our yard is all about natural landscaping, pollinator plants and gardening. Elena works from home and Justin’s home is the work! We have 10 very friendly semi-free ranging chickens in the backyard. 2 cats: Zoro, Mr Z Kitty and Sir Oliver Butterscotch, the Belligerent. We also have 2 65 pound dogs; EmmaJane NaughtyPants and Link Underfoot. They are friendly in your face kind of dogs. We do our best to keep them away from guests, but they are around. We hope you come stay with us and don’t forget your slippers!

A truly rare and wonderful place to park for one night or for multiple. The unique atmosphere outside and inside this home is so inviting, cozy and above all …interesting! The home is decorated with so many interesting artifacts that we dropped our bags when we came through the front door and took a 30 minute self guided tour through the place marveling at all the funky nooks and super cool retro-functional decorations in each room that we remembered so well growing up in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. So fun and soooo comfortable. We will look for this home on our next trip to Springfield … hope it will be available!

Absolutely stellar place! Peaceful, clean, comfortable, groovy, and then some! Would definitely stay here again. Hosts were friendly, proactively helpful and communicative, and make everything easy.

Retro heaven! The decor is even more amazing than the photos show. There’s so much to look at that we have to go back to take it all in. We got to feed fish and meet absolutely lovable doggos! We felt safe in the established neighborhood, and on-street parking was fine for us. It’s only a few miles to downtown and Lincoln attractions. There are a couple local coffee shops close by as well as grocery stores. We got a lovely tour of one of the other airbnbs on property and were gifted free eggs! Hosts are very responsive and very friendly. There’s even a little free library in the beautifully landscaped front yard! The home is spotlessly clean and super comfortable with lots of entertainment options. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. The bathroom had everything we needed as well. I don’t want to ruin the surprise…but there’s a little hidden nook that even our big kid (14) loved. We hope to return soon!

Definitely would stay again. The home was clean and the furniture was comfortable. We felt welcome the moment we stepped in the door. It was enjoyable to experience the unique array of items from the past. Hosts were responsive and flexible.

Stella Coffee house(1 block), Junk in the Trunk - vintage collectibles store( 1 block), Elevated massage(2 blocks), several hair salons(1,2 blocks away), Hae's Bakery(3/4 mile). Washington park is about half mile away, downtown is a little over a mile
