We loved the house, it was very comfortable, and had everything we needed. We also loved the location - very beautiful and peaceful, interesting to watch boats going through the lock, and great to swim in the river. Bianca and Steve were very responsive and helpful.

The house is soooo beautiful. We felt comfortable and at home from the monent we first entered. Especially having breakfast outside or making a delicious barbecue next to the house was just great. The communication was absolutely smooth. Particularly noteworthy is Bianca and Steve's flexibility and responsiveness. Although I had made a mistake, we were allowed to take a little more time at checkout. Everything was just perfect for us. We will definetely book the lockhouse again.

This was our second lovely stay at Malvy Lockhouse. As before, the house was immaculate and the location so peaceful. We travelled by train this time, walking along the river to and from Chateauneuf s/ Charente for shopping - but it's just too much in the summer heat, and so we rented a car from Angouleme. A couple of bikes would make all the difference here... The house has a peaceful lean-to BBQ area, while swimming in the river makes this a perfect relaxing stay. Very nearby Pub Garbieres is good for a burger and drinks while, 10 minutes walk away (or 20 for scenic route through the village) Mas Charentais is a quality family-run restaurant.

What an idyllic place.! The house is in a beautiful setting, airy and comfortable. Great eateries within walking distance and fantastic walks with the dog. An ideal place to ‘get away from it all’.

We had a fantastic stay in Malvy Lockhouse. The location is incredible: very quiet, the river and lock just in front, a nice and well maintained house that stays cool even if it is hot outside, a big enclosed garden that every dog will love ... You can enjoy a great holiday in and around the house itself and in the wider area: lovely river scenery in Mosnac, a swim in "Aire de Loisirs du Bain des Dames", the beautiful town Cognac, ... Bianca and Steve are also very communicative hosts. There weren't any "sacs jaune" (recycling bags) available so they arranged that a neighbour dropped some of in the front garden. Our 12 points go to ... Malvy Lockhouse :)
