I absolutely enjoyed my stay in this beautiful house. David was very welcoming and generous. This was my first time staying somewhere without my partner, but I never once felt uncomfortable. With the delicious coffee and beautiful view from the screened patio, it was easy to destress and relax. I’d without a doubt, book again if I ever need another getaway or are in the area.
David is the consummate host! Not only did he allow us to arrive late in the evening, but he also greeted us with a smile, and helped us carry our bags in from the car. His family’s house was built in 1890 and has so much character. Our room was quiet and cozy. In the morning, David showed us his wife’s incredible artwork over coffee and tea, and helped orient us to our destination at Georgia Southern. It was delightful talking with David and learning about his beautiful and storied home. I hope to have the opportunity to return!

自我介绍
Eileen is a professional artist and David is a retired literature professor and musician; we co-host Historic Hideaway and Gardens. Our place is in rural southeast Georgia. We've been married 47 years and counting, have four wonderful children and 6 grandchildren. Eileen is passionate about classical realism, the Impressionists, and portraiture, and has returned to full-time art study. Dave is passionate about music, books, gardening, and good naps.
