Vlakbij het stadscentrum van Sao Tome een parel in de branding…. Met een magisch uitzicht over zee en de rustige wijk! Ik mocht kiezen in welk vertrek ik wilde blijven en dat was erg fijn. De WiFi werkte goed, de keuken kon in gekookt worden, het water stroomde goed en de elektriciteit was altijd aanwezig. Mario was zeer behulpzaam en naast een goede host ook een enthousiaste tour guide die het eiland goed kent en alle mogelijkheden met je bespreekt. Mario’s familie was ook erg liefdevol en verwelkomend, ik ben erg dankbaar voor mijn tijd op deze prachtige plek. Zeker aan te raden voor mensen die het hele eiland willen zien maar toch een centrale verblijfplaats nodig hebben :)

Mario was an extremely helpful person. He is very communicative, his English is perfect, and he is very helpful. He is building up a very nice place close to the airport and the city, and we really liked our stay with him: nice and quiet terrace and nice garden with a rooster and a couple of hens, good breakfast, nice room with private bathroom. Mario really makes an effort to solve whatever problems you may have. In our case he got out of his way to solve our problems with getting cash. But he can also help with renting cars, arranging tours of all kinds and local transport. We used him as a guide taking us South, North and Interior. His excellent English makes it easy to have enriching conversations about conditions in the country, and we liked both his humorous style and his positive attitudes to eco tourism. He himself also knows about plants and herbal medicine. We can recommend both the place and the very helpful and knowledgeable host! Thank you, Mario, We will come back

Mario war sehr hilfsbereit u. ein super Guide. Seine Fahrkünste hervorragend u.die Kommunikation war in englisch. Wir machten tolle Ausflüge auf der Insel. Das Zimmer ist zentral gelegen u. 2 tolle Restaurants fußläufig in der Nähe. Frühstück hatten wir auf der Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer. Situationsbedingt des Landes blieb mal der Strom u. das Wasser weg. Heißt also improvisieren. Aber wer oft nach Afrika reist, kennt es auch von anderen Ländern. Wer damit nicht umgehen kann, sollte in Europa bleiben. Eine sehr grüne Insel, daher auch viel Wasser von oben. Leider auch einige Moskitos die es nicht lassen konnten uns aufzusuchen. Wer also weiß auf was er sich bei einem Besuch in São Tomé einlässt, wird eine tolle Zeit mit interessanten und unvergesslichen Eindrücken haben. Mario und seine Mama bleiben uns in guter Erinnerung und wir wünschen euch alles Gute für die Zukunft. Für mich bleibt es eine beeindruckende, faszinierende, lehrreiche Reise mit großer Demut vor Land und Leute.

A beautiful space with a great family. Everything about my stay here was lovely. Mama Monteiro looked after me as if I was her own, and I’ve left Sao Tome having met people who I now consider family. A great location, peaceful place, and lovely people in the home and in the surrounding area. Close by to a beach and a major supermarket and under 10 minutes to reach the city. Super safe area as you have the military building nearby. Great value for money! Communication with Mario was super easy and he even helped me out whilst not being in the country, ensuring everything about my stay in his home and country was smooth.
