Enjoy a gorgeous Bush retreat in a private treetop room in our Artist's Pole Home with access to a luxurious bathroom, kitchenette & the rest of the house as you wish. Art Studio onsite & walk to Brisbane River Golf Club Karana Downs beside the river, it is a unique place to relax amongst the birds in the Australian Bush. Art materials available & space downstairs to paint or draw, pitch a tent and even make a campfire 🔥. *(We even have a spare single room if booking for 3.) This listing is for Room One with a Double Bed, Desk and single floor mattress if you’d like. (Our bush pole home has two bedrooms available to book with incredible tree top bush views. Please see my other listing to book both rooms together or message to discuss how I can help). You are welcome to cook in the main kitchen or there is space to store food in the laundry, together with a spare toaster, kettle, tea and coffee, microwave, coffee plunger, washing machine, sink and clothes dryer if you wish. The luxury bathroom is a divine space to spoil yourself with long luxurious bath by candlelight! Please know these room is often used for Art making and workshops and may occassionally have Art materials or works in progress scattered about the space. Guitars, Acupressure Muscle Mats, Weighted Blanket, Yoga mats, sensory items and bean bags are available by request. You are most welcome to book into a a creative art workshop or therapeutic session during your stay too. Just let me know what you are looking for when booking. Karana Downs is located in the safe and quiet side of Brisbane’s bushy Western Suburbs and will require a car to visit. ;) (The cheaper Ipswich Trainline suburb listings are approx 15 drive south across the river and Warrago Highway .)

It is a gorgeous place, full of art, with a beautiful view. Tanja is a unbelievably nice host! We can highly recommend the place!
We loved staying in Tanja's wonderful home! The natural surroundings and views were so peaceful and we really enjoyed looking at all her beautiful art. It was so great to get to know Tanja and have some great conversations while we were passing through the area.
We had a wonderful stay at Tanja's place - all you see from your window are trees - it is gorgeous and observing the birds is amazing. The whole house is a gallery - full of colour, life, energy and love to detail. Tanja and Joel were incredibly welcoming, they are such lovely and interesting beings - you forget the time when talking to them. Would come back anytime!
A real gem of a find. Awesome house and awesome hosts. Looking forward to my next visit.

In the bush outskirts of Brisbane our Karana Downs property is perfect for relaxing in nature, and close to amenities with a corner store, service station, hairdresser and bakery just 600m away.
Walk down to the 18 hole Brisbane River Golf Course at Karana Downs with its delicious cafe every lunchtime, amazing food and music Friday night and breakfast Sunday mornings.
You can also fish on the River at Kookaburra Park or Colleges Crossing Park.
There is a Coles and Woolworths, Chapters Bar and Restaurant, Indian, Thai, Subway, Pizza, Kebabs, Sushi, McDonalds and Chemist just 7 mins away at Karalee Shopping Village.
Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is 18mins away, with Brisbane city and Amberley Base a 35mins drive.
Ipswich City Centre is just across the river, 15 minutes west.
We're lovely and bushy out here - ideally you will need a car!
There is limited public transport available morning and afternoon Monday to Saturday via the Brisbane City Council Personalised Public Transport Karana Downs $1 maxi taxi that circles the suburb and connects to Bellbowrie, Anstead and the Moggil 444 BUZ TRANSLINK Bus service to the city, Indooroopilly and back.

This leaves from a bus stop approx 500mts from our home near the Mt Crosby Road (Tanderra Way intersection) at the College Road Bus Stop Shelter
Monday to Friday morning service
The morning service runs in a loop, travelling from Mt Crosby Road (Tanderra Way intersection) to College Road, the Karana Downs Golf Club, Tanderra Way (near College Road), back onto Mount Crosby Road, Hawksbury Road, Sugars Road, Kangaroo Gully Road, Moggill Road past Moggill State School, the 444 BUZ bus stop (a bus service to the city) then back onto Sugars Road, Hawkesbury Road and Mt Crosby Road (Tanderra Way intersection).

Monday to Friday afternoon service
The afternoon service runs in a loop, travelling from Moggill State School to the 444 BUZ bus stop, Sugars Road, Hawkesbury Road, Mount Crosby Road (Tanderra Way intersection), College Road, the Karana Downs Golf Club, Tanderra Way (College Road intersection), back onto Mount Crosby Road, Hawksbury Road, Sugars Road, Kangaroo Gully Road and Moggill Road.
Note: The PPT service will pick up passengers outside the Moggill State School at approximately 3.10pm, 3.25pm and 3.57pm. The later afternoon services wait to depart near the Bellbowrie bus stop for commuters from the 444 BUZ route.
Saturday morning service
The Saturday morning service follows the same route as the Monday to Friday morning service.
The Saturday afternoon service follows the same route as the Monday to Friday afternoon service.

I've travelled across Europe, Asia, North America and New Guinea and walked the Portuguese Camino solo in 2022 staying in Albergues /Hostels across the way.
