There are a number of stone steps up to the apartment entrance. The apartment is set over two levels inside and has views across town. Feather's lane itself is a landmark with a wall plaque. The lane lead to the yard of the Feather's hotel, Chester's principal coaching inn in the early 19th century. Twenty coaches left here daily until the Feather's was demolished in 1886. The Whitegates apartment was built just soon after in 1891. On entering the apartment you'll find a dining room with large table and fully equipped kitchen perfect for early evening drinks or enjoying a family meal. Initial tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, biscuits and nespresso machine pods are provided along with some kitchen essentials - washing up liquid, tea towels, kitchen roll, salt, pepper, olive oil, foil and clingfilm. Upstairs there is a toilet at the top of the landing, 2 double bedrooms, the master bedroom with a king and a single bed and also a shower room. At the end of the hall, the large lounge is at the front of the apartment with stained glass windows overlooking the main centre and streets of Chester.
