Worth the winding roads to get here! Besides, the rolling hills and fields are absolutely gorgeous! Since we were getting in around sunset, we also spotted LOTS of deer playing and grazing in the fields! A nice cool place welcomed us after a very hot, muggy day. The room we stayed in, the living area and the bathroom were all super clean and well appointed. We didn't get to really enjoy the view of the Shenandoah since, again, we got there about sunset but when we got up in the a.m., we made coffee in the Keurig and enjoyed a cup out on the stone patio overlooking the river through the trees. Great way to wake up! Catherine was very prompt in responding to our last minute request to stay there... such a nice change from some of the questionable hotels/motels you find off the freeway. We settled in for the evening with a bottle of wine we had brought with us using the wine glasses provided in the living area and chose Scrabble from the pile of games, etc. that are provided for entertainment. I actually would've liked to stay longer but we were on our way back home after almost 2 weeks on the road. Definitely recommend this hidden gem!
