Kendra was a great host. She was right there to greet us upon arrival, toured us around the compound, and was very responsive to our messages. The area itself is very quaint, quiet, and serves well for a camping weekend. My 3 star review is based on the 'teepee' that we booked for the weekend and we felt that it was not accurately represented in the photos. The teepee itself is gorilla taped in several key locations. Unfortunately during our weekend there, it rained all night and we awoke in the middle of the night to multiple puddles on our items as well as directly on our bed. The one window leaked water on my husbands feet the entire night and soaked the end of the comforter. As frequent campers, we understand that weather cannot be controlled and that even well made tents leak slightly. However, we felt the leaking was worth mentioning because of how excessive it was and for the price we paid, we expected a fully functioning tent (not a tent that was gorilla taped). Kendra was kind enough to offer us a different rental on her property, but it didn't meet our wants/needs for the weekend. With that said, we would still love to come back and try this place again.

The teepee site was perfect for us. It offered privacy from the other sites, but still a short walk to the outdoor shower, outhouse, coffee, and plug ins. We had our own picnic table, fire pit, 2 camping chairs provided, a grate to cook over the fire, and plenty of free firewood. The teepee is spacious! Just the two of us were about to have 2 sitting chairs, our luggage, room for camping gear, and a queen sized bed! Perfect for getting that wind through the trees, crickets chirping, camping sleep while still being beyond comfortable. My boyfriend was beyond happy with that, as his back bothers him on even an air mattress Would definitely recommend and come back in the future for a little northern Michigan r&r!

Kendra is a great host and our rental was well maintained. As people who don’t often camp, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!
