Cécile et Christian nous ont permis de passer un très agréable séjour en famille. un endroit chaleureux,on s y sent comme à la maison.

La maison traditionnelle de vignerons est construite en terre crue et en pierre, et l’intérieur est entièrement réaménager avec des matériaux nobles réemployés. Christian est extrêmement sympathique, et nous présenté parfaitement toute la maison et ses charmes, nous n’avons pas été déçus du séjour.

I've booked this "gîte" due to its good reviews and the not so cheap price/night which made me confident that all should be perfect but oh boy i was wrong! To start with lets say the cleanliness is not the strong point of the house e.g the big black oven in the kitchen was full of dirt accumulated during a long period/ a bowl of moldy sausages in the micro/ toilet paper in the toilet/ hair in the sink/ big bowl of dust and hair just over the kitchen table/ very old fridge ...not so clean either! Pictures of the rooms are also a bit misleading as they present well arranged rooms when in fact they are crowded with lots of un-necessary objects accumulated over the years. The mezzanine and the room on top of it have access to bathrooms located on the other side of the house ( you will have to get downstairs, pass through the kitchen, climb another ladder ...and there you go! ). Christian has welcomed us as a good host but he turned his attitude at 180 degrees after we assessed the location and decided to leave; he and his wife got real nervous and we do understand that up to a point ... they excused themselves for the moldy sausages but we were told things like that happen, we were told that the fridge is just fine and that they raised 3 kids with it ... guess thats about 40y ago - nothing to add, we were told that the hair bowl above the kitchen table is just a spider web and its something to be expected in such an old house - we proved them wrong, it was not a spider web but just hair and dust, we were told that they have a company that is doing the cleaning for them ... still they should have checked before if they do their job right! They were unpolite with one of the girls in the group which they were arguing about the cleanliness, it seems that she has a "bad look" and the fact that she was checking the conditions while the rooms were presented was not a good sign (i'm not that good at French but think he used "faire la gueule" expression). As seen in another comment the price is crazy high for what's being offered; minus 900E for me (i demanded the booking price -100E in return, as the house had to be heated before our arrival, but Christian declined) that being said, i will never forget the smell of an old house from now on, never again! Too bad i can't add pictures to prove my point, cheers!
