***2020 #1 Wish-listed property in North Carolina***
Take a short walk on well lit path to an oasis in the woods. A swinging bridge welcomes you to a quiet, cozy home in the trees, surrounded by native Laurel and abundant hardwoods. Listen to the birds while having your morning coffee on the deck or relax in the hot tub below. The home is located on 14 acres. Old Fort is 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 20 minutes to Asheville.
The treehouse has luxury bedding, LED fireplace, full internet connection, cable tv, heat/air, microwave, cook top, and refrigerator. We have an outdoor shower with hot water and composting toilet, all located on the deck overlooking the forest. Our driveway is approximately 1/3 of a mile long through the woods. The gravel driveway does have some hills and curves. It DOES NOT require 4wd but if you have a very low profile car you may scrape in some sections. If you have a rear wheel drive car or truck, you may spin slightly in the gravel on the hills. If you are uncomfortable driving on a gravel road, or if we have a heavy snow, we offer drive in and out service on our UTV. We’re always available to help!

We had a great visit! The location was great and the treehouse was exactly as we pictured it. Lots of little touches made us feel right at home.
Five star experience all around! Amazing treehouse and hosts! Could not have imagined a better treehouse experience. Above and beyond our expectations. Would be blessed to return! It was charming, magical, beautiful, including the hosts! It was very difficult to leave. One of those places that you could imagine staying at forever. We’ve stayed at many traditional and unique air bnbs over the last few years on our hiking adventures, and this one definitely tops them all without hesitation. Everything you need and want in a luxury tree house experience was there, above and beyond. Many thoughtful, special and welcoming touches. We went in the summer and the gorgeous forest was in full bloom. Looking over the hot tub early in the morning at the lush greenery and wild flowers while listening the cheerful happy early morning songs of the local birds, with a cup of some delicious coffee, they left no stone unturned. Cozy and luxurious. We cannot wait to go back! As soon as our trip was over I was looking for my next booking! Prepare to be absolutely wowed! Pure bliss!
Definitely a one of a kind Airbnb experience for us. What further sets this one apart though is the host. They are as thoughtful and kind as any we have interacted with. The actual design and setting of the treehouse is awesome. It’s like they didn’t remove a single tree or leaf that didn’t need to be removed for it to be constructed so it feels like the treehouse is fully integrated to the woods. Loved that! The decor and stocking of the place was so nice. The bed was great, the lighting very nice (especially outside), the hot tub pleasant after a hike. Our favorite day time experience was driving up to Linville Gorge Wilderness. What a spectacular place that is. The treehouse is nearly always booked but if you ever see an opening, don’t wait. Reserve it. You won’t regret it.
I am blessed to live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. My husband Richard and our children (Barrett -10 and Andrew -21) love to travel. We enjoyed staying in Airbnbs so much, we decided to open one of our own in Asheville, close to our home. The first one led to a second and now a third. Our main focus is to make your stay perfect! We want our homes to be a relaxing oasis, stocked with all the comforts of home with special touches to make your stay memorable. Check us out and let us exceed your expectations! Questions?... just ask. We respond quickly!
