My husband & I love North Central Florida but we had never explored the St. John's River. This location on the Little Lake George part of the river was wonderfully serene. As we sat on the dock we viewed Welaka State Forest to the south & east, and Little Lake George Wilderness/Ocala National Forest to the west & south. The sunsets were amazing. The screened porch with views of the river came in handy on a rainy day. The house is modern and clean. We will visit this property again!

We really enjoyed our stay in Welaka. The home is large and spacious and having the split floorplan was very nice so that my elderly parents could have their own space. The kitchen is well stocked, even for a Thanksgiving feast. We enjoyed having the 2 fireplaces and used them all the time. We brought our own kayaks and had fun enjoying the local pristine wilderness right outside our door. The host was super responsive and helpful and the wildlife right at the house was amazing including deer and turkeys. Fishing off the dock was a big hit for everyone. We ate lunch at Renegades one day, just a few minutes from the house. An added bonus is that Instacart delivers from Publix, even to this remote location. Not having to stop at a grocery store the day before Thanksgiving was a real bonus! Would love to return one day to this peaceful oasis.

Our family has been renting this house for several years. We love the accommodations and the view. We are sad when the trip is over but can’t wait to go back the following year :) Thank you for the incredible accomodations with each stay!

It was a beautiful place , the only draw back is that we should have stayed longer. So peaceful and a great get away for people with a boat and fishing was great . Would definitely stay here again .
