This is hands-down the worst Airbnb/VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. We booked a 4-night stay but it was so bad that on the second night we booked another AirBnb in Park City for the last 2 nights of our trip. We requested and received a refund for Sunday and Monday night, thankfully. I am still unhappy about paying over $900 for two nights of accommodation in a house with faulty wiring, torn bedding, and a mouse infestation in the kitchen. The house is for sale and it is clear that it is not being maintained appropriately to be listed on Airbnb. The pictures that are currently online do not accurately reflect the furniture or items/amenities that are available to guests in the house. The home has ripped bedding, faulty wiring, and a mouse infestation in the kitchen. I didn’t feel comfortable walking in the house with my bare feet, I didn’t even want my socks on the floor, so I wore shoes 100% of the time while in the house, the floor is sticky and the house smells faintly of cigarette smoke. The pillow shams in both bedrooms downstairs are ripped, and I don’t mean just a little tattered, I mean ripped/torn a lot. The light switch for the upstairs bedroom, which you pass through to get to the deck, is faulty. You flip the switch up, the light flashes but does not turn on, you flip the switch down, the light flashes and goes back out, if you hold the switch in the middle, the light stays on. There are no lamps in the room so the one source of light is not in working order. The bathroom exhaust fan does not have a cover and sounds like a jet engine when turned on, it’s near deafening. The bathroom light switch also has a short. The lights come on sometimes, flicker then come on sometimes, or don’t turn on and you have to flip the switch again to get them to work. The shower head is not attached to the wall and the hot/ cold water is inverted in the shower, turn to the left for hot as indicated but that is actually the cold. The second drawer by the fridge, the one with the cooking utensils in it, has a mouse infestation. We were looking for an opener for a wine bottle in the drawer around 8:30pm on Saturday night and found rodent droppings enough to indicate they are living in the kitchen. The host was very responsive to my chats through Airbnb on Friday night when we arrived. I did advise of the torn bedding, the faulty light switch for the upstairs bedroom and the bathroom exhaust fan. The next day was when it became apparent that the shower had issues, the light switch in the bathroom is faulty, and there was a mouse problem. Individually these items might be something that you could deal with, other than the mouse problem, which was the last straw because it’s a biohazard, you can actually become ill due to rodent infestation. I did read the reviews on the place before booking it and did not see any of these issues listed by other guests. The porch and view are nice but it does not have all of the amenities that are in the current pictures, there is no two seater table out on the side porch, there are no games that are in the pictures and the table has a propane fire feature in the middle of the table but the igniter is broken. There’s a little door to the outside that is nailed shut in the living room area that has water damage around the door and ceiling. There are only three beds in the upstairs loft area, which differs from the picture listed on Airbnb. The bathroom does not have all the towels and items that are shown on the shelving unit in the picture, there aren’t even hand towels. The view is beautiful of the lake.This could be a great, fun place to stay but it needs an exterminator, a professional contractor to do quality repairs, and a professional cleaning service to do a deep clean.

This is a beautiful home and enough room for everyone to spread out. We enjoyed the deck with the fire table, relaxing with dinner and looking at the water. The kids liked the upstairs with the separate beds and televisions, as well as the video games downstairs. We enjoyed the drive through the country to Mammoth Cave and Lost River Cave for our day trips. Caitlyn was easy to contact and helpful. She put several thoughtful touches throughout the home that made us want to stay.
