We were in Vermont attending funeral services for my father-in-law. The peak of foliage season made finding a place to stay that could accommodate our family difficult. Jeffrey’s cabin was perfect to give us a beautiful place to reflect while having access to the beauty of Vermont. The cabin is also very well appointed in terms of linens, kitchen , etc. And a canoe!

Clean. Cozy cabin feel. Very nicely redone! Our only complaint really was the squeaky floors on the main level that is out of anyone’s control. I would also pay attention to his description of the stairs. Elderly, or anyone with mobility issues, might find the stairs challenging as they are narrow and steep. However, my mom didn’t have any issues with the pull out sofa in the living room on the first floor. Upstairs beds are also comfortable! We wish we had more time so that we could have used the canoes and enjoyed the lake.

The stairs do not meet code. The property has been renovated quite recently and would need to meet the international building code. The 4 inch nosing on the stairs is dangerous. Code limits nosing to 1/2 inch. The extended nosing means that your toes are under the next step when climbing, and sticks out beyond the step descending. These are fall hazards, especially when carrying a suitcase or, worse, a child. All 3 bedrooms are upstairs. I have photos of the problem but, alas, photos are not allowed in reviews. Do a search on "stairs" in the reviews and you will see the problem from other perspectives. I would love to see the building permit that accepted these stairs! Otherwise this is a great house in a beautiful location.

Very nice and completely renovated cottage. It is a great combo of rustic cottage and modern amenities. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood.

Everything was great until our last night. On Saturday night the whole place was full of bugs, like something had hatched, it waa so bad we had to leave and couldnt not stay the last night. I emailed Jeffery about what had happened and as of Monday he has not responded. I even took videos of how bad the bugs were so he could see what was happening, but still no response. Im a Vermonter who lives in the country and u understand bugs but this was nothing I had evey seen before, in a matter of an hour, the kitchen cupboard were covered in thousands of little bugs, they were everywhere it was unbearable to even be in the house they were landing on everything and everyone. We didnt leave doors or windows open so where they came from i dont know. I juat hope he saw my message and makes sure the next guests dont have to leave early too.
